Sweet Tooth follows a deer-hybrid named Gus who lived in Yellowstone with his Pubba until the latter’s demise. Besides them, the series also revolves around Dr. Singh, Tommy Jepperd, Becky, Wendy, and Birdie. Blessing us with so many incredible characters, the Netflix series left no stone unturned to become one of our favorites of all time. So, it’s understandable that fans are curious to know if Sweet Tooth will have Season 4. Well, let’s find out.
Will There Be Another Season of Sweet Tooth?
Sweet Tooth found a good and satisfying ending in Season 3, so it will certainly not get a fourth season. As per Variety, the show’s creator, Jim Mickle, revealed in 2023 that the series will find a conclusion in the third season. He also stated that 24 episodes are enough to tell the entire comic book story. As per him, “At the beginning, I think you set out to tell these landmark pieces of Gus’ story and the big pieces of the comic book, but the beauty of long-form storytelling and Gus’ journey over 24 episodes is the characters themselves tell you what they want to be.”
There are many TV shows that get stretched unnecessarily and eventually provoke the fandom to stop watching them. Thankfully, Sweet Tooth isn’t one of them, as the creators made the right decision to end the series naturally. There wasn’t a single event in the series that seemed unnecessary; from the main storyline to character growth, everything was to the point.
Sweet Tooth Season 3 Did Justice to Gus’ Story
Sweet Tooth starts with a post-apocalyptic setting that makes us realize what the world would look like if humankind went downhill suddenly. The story introduces us to a father-son duo living in the woods. However, suddenly, the father dies, and the child, Gus, has to manage everything alone. One day, Gus finds a photograph of a woman in his Pubba’s cabin. The woman in the picture is Birdie, and Gus decides to find her as he thinks she is his mom.
On the way, he befriends Tommy Jepperd, a former footballer. Later, he meets several hybrids and humans who become his friends. He also comes across several villains, such as General Abbot in Season 2 and Helen Zhang in Season 3. He had to struggle a lot but with his loved ones by his side, he always came out safe, even in the toughest situations.
In Season 3, Helen Zhang, Dr. Singh, and a huge army hunt him down, thinking he is the key to curing the virus. They believed killing Gus would help them get rid of the virus, but the little boy burnt the mystical tree in the cave so that “The Sick” could get cured once and for all. The cute little hybrid boy we met in Season 1 bid us goodbye after becoming a mature grownup. And well, that’s the end of the road for Gus’ story.
