Wednesday Season 2 created a significant buzz lately, and now that it is finally here, fans have lost all calm. That’s because they have finally met their favorite Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams after waiting for three long years. While everyone rejoices in witnessing the darker events and the reunion with their beloved characters, there’s a huge cast change in Wednesday Season 2 that no one can ignore.
Lurch Looks Different in Wednesday Season 2. Isn’t It?
Lurch is the tall and gloomy butler of the Addams Family, portrayed by different actors since the series began. Netflix’s Wednesday introduced us to George Burcea’s Lurch in 2022. However, he later revealed through an Instagram post that he is not willing to return in Season 2 due to some personal reasons. So, a new actor was hired to portray the character in the new season.
In Wednesday Season 2, the Finnish actor Joonas Suotamo, who is also a professional basketball player, portrays Lurch. That’s also the reason why the new Lurch looks taller; Burcea is a 6’3″ actor, while Suotamo is 6’11”. You may recognize the new actor from the Star Wars Saga, in which he played the role of Chewbacca.
Lurch appears as a man of few words in Wednesday, but it’s his facial expressions and inarticulate moans that speak more than words. So, even though Burcea and Suotama didn’t get a significant screen time and dialogue, it doesn’t mean we didn’t notice the cast change in Wednesday Season 2.
