The latest episode of Penguin focused a lot on Victor Aguilar and gave us a story of how he survived the Riddler’s flood while his family did not. In episode 3 of The Penguin, we see that Victor almost left Gotham with Graciela and even told Penguin about his intentions however, he did not go through with it. In this article find out why Victor never left Gotham and came back to Oz.
Victor Sees a Purpose With Oz and to Turn His Life Around
Victor had the perfect opportunity to get rid of the life of crime. Graciela had bought him a ticket to leave Gotham and waited for him to get on the bus. However, even though Victor leaves Oz’s club, and drives to the Bus Station, he never gets out of the car and goes back to the nightclub just in time to save Oz from being killed by one of the Maronis’ goons.
The flood caused by Riddler wiped away Victor’s whole life, he was left with no purpose. Since the day he met Penguin, he gave Victor a job and a purpose. Victor must have thought that he could not let go of an opportunity to be a part of something big. Other than that, staying with Oz has taught him a lot about life and since Victor has no father figure in his life, he has started to look up to Penguin. Now, he has new ambitions that require him to let go of his past and start anew.
Not getting on the bus with Graciela is also a representation of Victor going on a path of no return and choosing a life of crime for himself. So, from now on, we will not get to see a skeptical victor but one dedicated to Penguin’s cause. So let’s wait till the next episode drops to find out what happens next!
