The much-awaited DC villain-centered television series, The Penguin, is finally here, and I must say that the creators have left no stone unturned in creating this series a masterpiece. It’s one of the best DC villain adaptations ever made; even the early reviews from the critics stated so. Everything about the TV Show is amazing, whether the acting, dialogues, or cinematography. It also featured some brilliant Easter eggs and references from the DC universe. And one such thing appeared in the form of a QR Code. Here’s all you need to know about it.
This Scene in the Penguin Episode 1 Had an Easter Egg in QR Code
In The Penguin Episode 1, we see a masked man approaching people traveling in the subway, and that’s when they also encounter Oz and Vic. They had a QR barcode in their hand, and the text under it stated ‘Gotham’s True Face.’ Oz and every fan thought it to be a regular barcode, but now we finally know what it was. If you remember the main villain, Riddler, in Robbert Pattinson’s Batman, you already know what the antagonist was after. He wanted to eradicate the corrupted rich people from existence, and for that, he wanted the poor to rally against the rich.
The Penguin kicks off from where 2022’s Batman is left. We see Carmine Falcone’s dead body, as the Riddler killed him in the movie. Even though the Caped Crusader has put him behind bars, we can’t say his supporters have retreated from his cause. The pilot episode of The Penguin shows the same picture. The mask that the barcode holder wears seems familiar, isn’t it? Well, it’s the same mask worn by the Riddler. So, the possibility states that the men behind the masks could be the Riddler sympathizers.
Now, if you want to know what was so special about the code, here are the details that appear when you scan the code from your mobile phone:
This clearly states that the revolution against the influential, corrupt people of Gotham City is still ongoing. Whether Riddler is around or not, his supporters are carrying out this mission. Also, not many of you might know that Riddler has a website, and when you scan that code, the text appears on the same website. There is a chance that someone from the outside world will carry forward Riddler’s mission in his absence.
Riddler was always against the rich exploiting the poor. He may have targeted the poor settlements in the Batman movie so that these people would rally against the affluent, wealthy families that controlled Gotham from the shadows. So, this revolution may start, and people might decide to break out Riddler from the prison.
