The Last of Us Season 2 is only a couple of weeks from conclusion, and as always, it is packed with emotional highs and lows wrapped in a package of breathtaking action. The most adored thing in the TLOU franchise is the kind of characters it introduces, be it Ellie, Joel, Abby, Dina, or those who are not human. One such non-human character is Shimmer, Ellie’s horse, and while she is adorable, fans are concerned about the fate she might meet in the show. So, without further ado, let’s find out if Shimmer will live or die in The Last of Us Season 2.
Does Shimmer Die in The Last of Us 2?
Shimmer was first introduced in The Last of Us Part 2 as one of the horses at Jackson. Eventually, she became Ellie’s horse and was the one Ellie and Dina took to Seattle. Even though Shimmer helped Ellie and Dina a lot in their pursuit of Abby, eventually, Shimmer died in The Last of Us Part 2 video game.
In the video game, we see that Shimmer was gravely injured by a trap mine that broke her leg. Just then, a WLF soldier shot Shimmer in the head, and she died as Ellie watched, unable to do anything about it.
Considering that The Last of Us Season 2 is mostly following the same trajectory as the game, there is a good chance that Shimmer is going to meet the same fate as her video game counterpart did so, let’s wait and see if they make us go through the same trauma again or change it foe the show.
