7 Hidden Lore Drops in ‘The Gods’ Limits’ Genshin Impact Trailer Breakdown

Hoyoverse posted the “Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: The Gods’ Limits” on YouTube, setting the Genshin Impact community on fire with some massive lore drops. This teaser brings to light some of the most sought-after information that fans have been questioning since the launch of the game. We decided to closely watch the trailer and discuss the most important points below. So, check out how the lore evolves in this complete God’s Limits Genshin Impact trailer breakdown.

1. Identity of the “Unknown God”

The biggest reveal in the new trailer was the real identity of the “Unknown God” that appears in the opening cutscene of Genshin Impact. The “Unknown God” is none other than Asmoday, the Ruler of Space and one of the Four Shades of the Heavenly Principles.

She is responsible for separating the Twin Travelers and sending them into Teyvat. Asmoday might also be responsible for the False Sky in Genshin Impact.

2. Ruler of Space is Missing

Right after the Asmoday reveal, we learn that she has not been attending the Four Shades meeting. The scene further reveals that Asmoday is missing, even hinting that she may have switched sides.

Ronova, the Ruler of Death, also mentions Asmoday’s new master. Now, being a master of the Four Shades, while being outside of the Heavenly Principles, clearly points towards a being from the outer worlds.

3. Heavenly Principles are ‘Sleeping’

Another shocking tidbit we learned from the God’s Limits teaser is that the Heavenly Principles are asleep. This was revealed by the ‘Gold’ Rhinedottir when she implies that now would be the perfect time to act for Asmoday as the ‘Heavenly Principles are yet to awaken’, possibly hinting at mischief.

The word ‘yet’ also implies that the Heavenly Principles are expected to awaken at a designated time. Their ‘sleep’ can be the reason behind the creation of the Four Shades to govern Teyvat.

4. Rhinedottir Devoured Naberius

We finally got our first look at Rhinedottir, the infamous Alchemist who was partly responsible for the Cataclysm 500 years ago.

Rhinedottir is one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah and the person who created Durin and Albedo in Genshin Impact. Rhinedottir has somehow managed to devour Naberius, the Ruler of Life, and has, in turn, become one of the Four Shades herself. Both Naberius and Rhinedottir seem to exist in the same body, but Rhinedottir is shown to be in control at the moment.

5. Pierro is a Khaenri’ahn Noble

The teaser also gives another look at the Director of the Fatui, “The Jester” Pierro. Shockingly, we see Pierro being in the presence of Ronova when she placed the Curse of Immortality on Khaen’riah. This also means that Pierro was present at Khaen’riah during the Cataclysm and is likely a Khaenri’ahn Noble himself.

It isn’t a far stretch, as Il Capitano was also revealed to be a Commander of Khaen’riah. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Pierro is either Hroptatyr “The Wise,” the Knight Marshal Anfortas, or the King Irmin himself. Pierro must have higher authority in Khaenri’ah compared to Il Capitano.

6. Tsaritsa’s Plans Revealed

During the Four Shades meeting, Ronova scoffs at the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa for having ambitions of overthrowing the Heavenly Principles. Till now, we have only speculated the reason behind the Fatui’s pursuit of the Gnosis, but now we finally know about it. The Gnosis is likely the only way the Tsaritsa can tackle the Heavenly Principle.

7. Fatui’s Plan in Nod-Krai

At the end of the God’s Limits teaser, we learn about the Fatui’s plans for Nod-Krai. One of the Fatui soldiers mentions the following order: “Per the Palestar Edict, we are to retrieve The Damselette from Nod-Krai, whatever it takes.”

This ‘Damselette’ is protected by the Frostmoon Scions and is likely connected to the unique moon worship powers. The soldiers also mention that they have to make sure the Frostmoon Scions don’t pose a threat. It is clear that the Frostmoon Scions will take the center stage in the upcoming Nod-Krai region.

So, that’s everything we learned from the new The God’s Limits Genshin Impact teaser. Did we miss out on any hidden secrets or easter eggs? Tell us in the comments below.
