All the Korean and Japanese hunters who joined the fourth Jeju Island raid mistook the Ant Queen to be the final boss in their mission. However, what they didn’t know was that the Ant Queen had given birth to the strongest black ant who she considered a natural-born leader, well-suited to lead his fellow ants to glory and eradicate humankind. The black ant, known as the Ant King, has a unique humanoid physique and mighty strength as the Ant Queen’s strongest spawn.

Even though he had been alive for a short period, the black ant instantly became the final boss of the Jeju Island raid. Even Cha Hae-In acknowledged that Ant King is no ordinary magic beast, as he is in a league of his own. This monstrous ant took down a total of eight Japanese S-Rank hunters, automatically qualifying him as one of the most powerful creatures we’ve seen in the series.

Ant Queen brought the Ant King to the world for the sole purpose of commanding the ant kingdom and paving the way for the destruction of humanity. Therefore, the Ant King was introduced as the strongest child of the Ant Queen and is physically gifted with colossal strength and a multitude of powerful skills to overwhelm humanity.

Now that the black ant has made its debut and even vanquished half of the Jeju Island raid party, you must learn about the Ant King’s tremendous strength and incredible agility. Apart from his superhuman-level abilities, the black ant also possesses these unreal magical abilities:

  • Size Alteration: The Ant King has the power to shrink or grow in size, as per his needs. For example, if the black ant needs to overpower his opponents, he can increase his size and get gigantic strength but loses agility.
  • Gluttony: This is the Ant King’s best ability as it enables him to inherit the knowledge, skills, and powers of those he devoured. For example, the Ant King eats the head of Min Byung-Gyu and instantly receives the speech and healing abilities of the human.
  • Paralysis Poison: Ant King can spew a magically improved poison as he consumes a cone snail at a point in his life. This poison can take out a person if there isn’t any healer available nearby.
  • Healing Expert: As the Ant King consumed the flesh of a Korean S-Rank healer, he became an expert in healing in no time.

The Ant King truly lived up to his name by wreaking havoc on Jeju Island right after his birth. He was easily one of the most formidable villains in Solo Leveling, and the Ant King’s death had to come at the hands of Sung Jinwoo. Even though he swiftly defeated multiple S-Rank hunters and tried to overpower Jinwoo, the latter made the king run for his life.

In the end, Jinwoo defeated the Ant King, and of course, he couldn’t let go of the monstrous powers of the black ant in vain. As usual, he used his Shadow Extraction ability to recruit the Ant King and named him Beru. The Ant King then goes on to become one of Jinwoo’s most loyal shadows.

The Ant King’s battle against Jinwoo will be showcased in the final episodes of Solo Leveling season 2. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the Ant King’s character in the comments below.
