Should You Pull Emilie in Genshin Impact

In Short
  • Emilie is a strong Dendro off-field Sub-DPS and she is really good in mono-pyro teams.
  • Her kit makes her less versatile as she can work mostly only work with Pyro characters that can trigger the Burning reaction.
  • Emilie's massive attack multiplier when allies trigger the burning reaction is her main bread-and-butter when it comes to her Dendro damage output.

Emilie is a strong Dendro sub-DPS and she will feature in the 2nd phase banners of Genshin Impact 4.8. Her kit is connected with the Burning reaction, dealing a ton of increased damage when enemies are burning nearby. However, there are many great Sub-DPS characters in Genshin Impact, so players are questioning whether it is worth pulling for Emilie. If you are unsure of whether to Pull for Emilie or not, here is the complete guide on her strengths and weaknesses, alongside comparisons with other Sub-DPS units.

Genshin Impact Emilie Kit

Emilie’s kit is connected with the Burning elemental reaction triggered by Pyro characters. Her elemental skill places a Dendro pod, which constantly deals single-target Dendro damage on nearby enemies, even without Emilie being active on the field. When the allies trigger the Burning reaction on enemies near the pods, the Dendro pods level up and deal more damage.

This way, Emilie’s entire kit is focused on dealing a high amount of off-field Dendro damage, while nearby enemies are burning. Her main damage source comes from her high Attack multipliers triggered when enemies are burning nearby. Emilie completely scales on Attack, and she can only deal damage to enemies and cannot provide any buffs to the allies. One thing to note is that Emilie doesn’t increase the damage of the Burning reaction, but increases her own damage while Burning is triggered nearby.

Emilie vs Other Sub-DPS Characters in Genshin Impact

Emilie is a good sub-DPS character for Pyro teams in Genshin Impact. Now, let’s see how she compares to other Sub-DPS units in the game.

  • Emilie vs Xiangling: Emilie can take the place of Xiangling in many of the Mono Pyro teams, becoming a strong sub-DPS alternative to the loved chef. Both characters are quite comparable to each other, however, Xiangling does AoE damage while Emilie is more focused on a single target. Other than that, Xiangling is also much easier to obtain than a 5-star character like Emilie.
  • Emilie vs Fischl: Although not direct competitors for team spots, Fischl and Emilie are quite the same in terms of use. Fischl, however, has much more versatility and can fit in many more teams than Emilie. In terms of damage output, Emilie is better than Fischl.

Best Team Synergies for Emilie

Emilie doesn’t have a lot of versatile use, even though she is an off-field Dendro applier. Her kit is geared towards the Burning reaction, which forces players to play her in Mono-Pyro teams to get the best out of her. She can also do decent in Aggravate, Vape, and Melt teams, but those teams need much closer attention to her Skill use, taking away the ease of playing her.

If you have strong pyro characters like Lyney or Arlecchino, then pulling Emilie might be worth it. She deals a ton of damage when enemies are burning nearby, and also provides a lot of on-field time to main DPS units like Lyney and Arlecchino.

Does Emilie Need Her Signature Weapon?

Emilie’s signature weapon is very good for her kit and enables her to use her Elemental Burst every two rotations without any extra energy. Her signature weapon increases her damage output and ease of usage by a lot and is more important than her first constellation. However, you technically don’t need it to get the best out of her kit as there are some other good weapon options for Emilie in the game.

But if you want to make Emilie one of the strongest Sub-DPS units in the game, then her signature weapon almost becomes a necessity. If you are planning to get Emilie and build her completely, especially for the upcoming Natlan characters, then I would suggest you go for her signature weapon as well if you have the spare Primogems.

Should You Pull for Emilie?

Now that you have taken a look at everything Emilie provides, let’s boil everything down to her strengths and weaknesses.

Emilie’s Strengths:

  • Mostly off-field character.
  • Deals a lot of damage with Pyro characters.
  • Easy to play.

Emilie’s Weaknesses:

  • Less versatile than other Sub-DPS characters.
  • Dendro application is barely focused in her kit.
  • Doesn’t buff other allies and is a complete damage dealer.
  • Mainly deals single-target damage.

Overall, I won’t recommend pulling for Emilie in Genshin Impact 4.8, unless you have some strong Mono-Pyro teams. Her kit is decent and she is a good off-field damage dealer, but there is nothing special in her kit for a 5-star character. Share your thoughts on Emilie in the comment section and tell us if you are planning to pull for her in 4.8.
