- Resident Evil Requiem features a wide range of weapons, including handguns, rifles, and SMGs.
- Some weapons are exclusive to Grace, although most are wielded by Leon.
- The game also has Bonus Content weapons, which can only be unlocked by using CP (Challenge Points).
Resident Evil Requiem is a thrill ride from top to bottom with some truly excellent combat encounters. The game also features a decent variety of weapons, ranging from stylish revolvers to explosive RPGs. While you’ll encounter most of RE9’s guns organically, some weapons require some extra exploration to acquire. On top of this, some guns are even locked behind the “Special Content” menu and can be unlocked after you’ve completed the game at least once.
Seeing as Capcom is celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary, the devs have also added weapons from previous Resident Evil games. So, whether you’re trying to collect every item on your first playthrough or chasing down the Platinum trophy, here’s a handy guide on all Resident Evil 9 Guns and weapon locations.
Resident Evil Requiem: All Weapons and Weapon Locations
Here is a list of every Resident Evil Requiem weapon that you can find during your first playthrough:
- Alligator Snapper
- Requiem
- B934
- S&S M232
- Makeshift Knife/Hunting Knife
- MSBG 500
- Hand Grenades
- Classic 70
- Gal
- Marksman 1A
- W870 Police
- Mortal Edge
- Bottle of Acid
Aliigator Snapper

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Handgun
- Location: Available by default
A standard semi-auto handgun that’ll be on Leon’s hip at the start of the game. Strong enough to get the job done during the early portions of Resident Evil 9’s 12-hour runtime.
Requiem

- Characters: Leon and Grace
- Weapon Type: Assault Revolver
- Location: Unlocked as you progress the story
Requiem is the meaty hand cannon that was featured heavily in Resident Evil Requiem’s marketing. The revolver uses 12.7x55mm rounds and packs enough power to blow a hole through zombies and elephants – whichever comes first.
B934

- Character: Grace
- Weapon Type: Handgun
- Location: On the dining room floor in the Care Center’s West Wing
A compact and durable blowback handgun, comparable to Ethan Winter’s starting weapon in RE: Village.
S&S M232

- Character: Grace
- Weapon Type: Handgun
- Location: Kept inside a locked safe in the Bar area on the second floor of the Care Center’s West Wing
This is actually Grace’s default weapon in RE9, but it is taken from her during the early portions of the story. The handgun is far more reliable than the B934.
Makeshift Knife/ Hunting Knife

- Character: Grace
- Weapon Type: Melee
- Location: Scattered in various locations all throughout the game
Both knives are best used as last resorts to avoid getting eaten by a zombie. While playing as Grace, you also won’t be able to sharpen these melee items like Leon’s hatchet. As for the weapon location, you’ll find knives in different spots in almost every major area of the game.
MSBG 500

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Shotgun
- Location: Sitting in the Attic just before the Chunk boss fight
A solid pump-action shotgun with a wide blast. Comes in handy during the boss encounter with the aptly named Chunk.
Hand Grenades

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Throwables
- Location: Scattered in various locations
Standard Fragmentation Grenades – toss them to quickly dispatch a group of zombies and briefly stun one of the bigger enemies.
Classic 70

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Rifle
- Location: Unlocked automatically as you progress the story
In a neat throwback to sequences from previous franchise entries, you’ll unlock this Resident Evil Requiem weapon to protect your partner from afar, as a pack of infected is chasing them. The weapon itself is a standard bolt-action rifle, lethal in skilled hands.
Gal

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Submachine Gun
- Location: Found in a flooded underground parking garage in East Raccoon City
The Gal looks a lot like the Uzi while also having the SMG’s unwieldy recoil pattern. That said, the weapon still has a decent bit of utility, especially if you fire it in short bursts.
Marksman 1A

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Rifle
- Location: Found inside a blue BSSA container at the end of East Raccoon City’s main street
A semi-automatic marksman rifle. The damage per shot is limited, but it boasts a high rate of fire and fast reload speeds.
W870 Shotgun

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Shotgun
- Location: After entering Gun Shop Kendo, you’ll trigger a cutscene. Do a 180° turn immediately after the cutscene to find the shotgun sitting on a shelf
Last seen in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, the W870 shotgun is just as powerful as you remember. The pump-action shotgun boasts an impressive spread, but you’ll have to be careful while firing to keep its high power in check.
Mortal Edge

- Character: Leon
- Weapon Type: Melee
- Location: Dropped by the Commander boss in the Ark
Mortal Edge is described as a “formidable instrument of death” that has “taken countless lives and is steeped in a long, bloody history.” In other words, it’s a solid replacement for Leon’s melee weapon in Resident Evil 9.
All Supply Box Weapons in Resident Evil Requiem
At different locations in the game, Leon will be able to access Supply Boxes and purchase some of the best weapons in Resident Evil Requiem. Here’s everything on offer at these stores:
- Silencer 9: Powerful and precise handgun. The built-in suppressor effectively dampens the sound of all shots.
- 990-Tac: A modern, semi-automatic shotgun. With excellent grouping, it’s ideal for precision shooting. A dot sight can be attached.
- Stiri REVO3 A1: A lightweight, compact, polymer frame submachine gun. It has a high rate of fire and does considerable damage. You can add a stock to improve accuracy.
All Special Weapons in Resident Evil Requiem

On top of all the firearms and melee items, Resident Evil 9 features a couple of special weapons that can be acquired from the environment. Their weapon locations are limited to specific areas, with the items being:
- Chainsaw: A portable, automatic saw that can literally tear zombies apart. Leon can pick up Chainsaws after defeating the infected that was previously carrying the weapon.
- Mortar: As you progress through the story, you’ll be able to use a full-fledged Mortar and rain down fire on zombies from above. The weapon doesn’t stick around for too long, but it does the trick pretty quickly.
All Bonus Content Weapons in Resident Evil Requiem
As you progress through RE9’s story and kill enemies, you’ll earn CP or Challenge Points. This in-game currency can be used to unlock some of the most powerful weapons in the game, giving you a better chance of saving Leon in Resident Evil Requiem.
