Unfortunately, at the time of writing this post, we don’t have any official announcement regarding the season renewal. However, the creators clearly expressed their desire to continue the series by ending the first season on a cliffhanger. Now, it’s entirely on Netflix to decide Parasyte: The Grey’s fate.

The streaming giant analyzes a particular show’s reception and performance before figuring out if the show deserves a new season. Well, if we talk about the reception, Parasyte: The Grey received a ton of praise on social media. So, it’s evident that fans are anticipating Season 2.

On top of everything, the Japanese actor/singer Masaki Suda’s special cameo at the end of the series seemed like the icing on the cake. Getting a glimpse of him as Shinichi Izumi, longtime fans of the manga/anime series can’t wait to see him play a significant role in the second season.

Well, it’s too early to expect anything official from Netflix, as it usually tracks the performance of the projects for a month or two before renewing them for further seasons.

Fans who have watched Parasyte: The Maxim will, of course, watch the K-drama to learn if it has any connection to their favorite franchise. However, the only concern is that due to the lack of marketing, the TV show might be unable to draw the attention of new viewers.

For instance, the One Piece live-action adaptation (review) became a blockbuster due to the grand marketing strategies implemented by creators ahead of its official release on Netflix. That way, the TV show could accumulate millions of new viewers, along with the old ones. However, that isn’t the case with The Grey, unfortunately. So, let’s wait and watch how things go with Parasyte: The Grey.
