After a successful launch of the Lava Red Edition of the OnePlus 5T in China, the company brought the handset to the Indian market. The smartphone was launched in India last month, and now, it appears that the Chinese handset maker is planning for a global launch of the handset.
OnePlus took to its official Twitter feed yesterday to post a red-colored image with the caption “Discover the radiance in 24-hours.” Although the image doesn’t give out much about the handset or its launch, the red color theme of the image makes it pretty obvious.
Before that, the company also tweeted an eleven-second video with the caption “Bring the passion! What things should try on red next?”. The video illustrates a bunch of items that transforms from white to red. Taking all this into consideration, it is safe to assume that the OnePlus 5T Lava Red Edition is going to be getting a new launch today.
As mentioned earlier, the red variant of the smartphone is already available in China and India. Now, it looks like it may be heading to more countries. It is also a perfect time to launch the OnePlus 5T Lava Red Edition in more countries since Valentine’s day is right around the corner. Our guess is that the device will go on sale on February 14th.
That being said, it remains to be seen if we are looking at a global launch of this variant or if the company is merely looking to expand the region in which the Lava Red variant will be available. However, since the smartphone is already launched in India, it makes it a little easier to guess the pricing. In India, the device is sold for around Rs. 37,999, which is in line with the standard edition of the smartphone. The pricing comes down to about $592 (USD), which looks perfect for someone who’s looking to grab the handset in this flashy new color.
