Let’s go through a quick recap of Loki’s life so far: Estrid, Loki’s mother, rejected him at birth, since he was born with a pair of demonic eyes. His mother went to the extreme length of committing infanticide, but Loki survived the fall to the underworld.

From then on, Estrid deemed him the curse of Elbaf and blamed him for every disaster that would fall upon their country and its king. With his father on a voyage around the seas most of the time and his mother outright disowning him, Loki grew up without the love of his parents.

Deprived of parental affection, Loki carved his own path in life by choosing a notorious path of destruction. However, he tried to end his life by falling off the cliff whenever he saw a child being protected and cared for by their parents. So, Prince Loki wandered aimlessly in the underworld of his homeland until Rocks D. Xebec came into the picture.

Rocks and Harald’s lives were intertwined in the fateful Reverie incident, where both infiltrated the Holy Land for different purposes. After fate brought them together, Rocks assembled a crew in the most fun way with Davy Back Fights and set sail for Elbaf. He wanted to recruit King Harald in his world domination plans.

Rocks made Harald, who was on a journey to build ties with other nations, come and meet him in Elbaf by hurting Loki. During their second meeting, Rocks revealed that he wants to obliterate the Marines, destroy the Holy Land, and establish himself as the King of the World. And to achieve all these dreams, he needed the help of the king of the giants, with whom he would be unstoppable.

Right when Rocks was convincing the king, kid Loki overheard this conversation and discovered his salvation from the never-ending pain of living without love. As Rocks made a statement about claiming the world, Loki smiled for the first time after figuring out what he wanted to do in his life. Inspired by Xebec and the legends of Nika, Loki ended up proclaiming he was the sun god who would bring destruction to the world.

Strangely, Rocks was the one who gave meaning to Loki’s life, although he struck the kid for wanting to join his crew. In the current timeline, Loki will be set free soon due to the ongoing war in Elbaf. We will soon find out whether Loki will continue his goal of destruction or pave the way to redeem himself in the upcoming chapters.
