Alright, that’s the up-to-date filler list of One Piece. Moreover, we suggest you give the descriptions below a read to get a gist of the story in these filler arcs and find the answer to whether you should watch it or not. Pirate, if you are starting your One Piece journey, we suggest you check out this list to not miss out on any important canon-mixed fillers in the right order.

Warship Island Arc

An image of Luffy and co in the filler arc.
  • Episodes: 54-60

The Warship Island arc is the very first filler arc in the One Piece filler list. The Straw Hats rescue a girl named Apis from the ocean before going into the grand line. She escaped from the warship and the crew plans to get her and  Sennenryu back to their homeland. This is a trivial arc, and you can skip it right away.

Note:

The next One Piece Episode 61 titled “An Angry Showdown! Cross the Red Line!” is a mixed episode as it has filler for the first 13 minutes. You can skip that part as well and start watching the remaining canon part of the episode.

Arabasta Mini-Filler Arc

  • Episodes: 98, 99, and 102

These filler episodes are not an entire arc with a filler storyline. Instead, each filler episode focuses on a distinct storyline where the Straw Hat Pirates, along with Vivi, visit various parts of the Arabasta country. You can try watching this to have a bit of relief amidst the serious Arabasta arc. Otherwise, you can skip it and continue your Arabasta journey to see what the future holds for the Straw Hats.

Post-Arabasta Arc

  • Episodes: 131-135

The Post-Arabasta arc takes place, you guessed it, after the Arabasta arc and features five standalone episodes. This is the second filler arc in the series. Each episode discusses the goals and dreams of the crew members at that time. For some reason, Luffy’s and Robin’s dreams are not covered here. So if you want to know a little more about the Straw Hat pirates, you should this arc without any question. But most of the fans consider it to be lacking in the narrative side.

Goat Island Arc

  • Episodes: 136-138

The Goat Island arc chronicles the story of the Straw Hats who mistakenly land on this island while trying to escape from the Marines. The third filler arc in the anime sees Luffy and his crew discover an old man with numerous goats. Hence, the island’s name. Once again, Straw Hats decides to help this old man and get his ship back to working condition. It is yet another poor filler arc that you can easily skip to save time.

Ruluka Island Arc

  • Episodes: 139-143

The Ruluka Island arc takes place right after the Goat Island arc in One Piece. That means we have back-to-back filler arcs from episodes 136 to 143. This is the fourth filler arc and is also known as the Rainbow Mist Arc.

Just like the previous filler arc, we see the Straw Hats being chased by the Marines, and they find this new island. This island is being ruled by a dictator named Ruluka (ex-Pirate), who overtaxes the people of the Island. Luffy and co decide to help the people and leave the island shortly. This arc can also be skipped like the previous filler arc, so you can get right into the Jaya Arc without wasting time.

G-8 Arc

  • Episodes: 196-206

The G-8 Arc takes place right after the Skypiea adventures and is the fifth filler arc of the One Piece anime series. It is considered to be the funniest and best filler arc of One Piece we have on our filler list here. The Straw Hats get trapped inside a marine base, and they must survive to find their ship to escape from the base. If you’re looking for a perfect filler arc, this is the one you need to watch these fillers.

Note:

As mentioned earlier, this is one of the best filler arcs to watch. But if you don’t plan on watching this arc, there is a small canon scene in the middle of the arc. That is in episode 203 titled “The Pirate Ship Disappears! Fortress Battle, Round #2!”, watch the second half from 13:00 to 20:00 as it includes a conversation among the Straw Hats about their ship. This is canon as the same conversation took place in manga chapter 303.

Ocean’s Dream Arc

  • Episodes: 220-224

Ocean’s Dream is the sixth filler arc and is based on a One Piece PlayStation game. The story is about how a young man erases the memories of the Straw Hat Pirates. Each crew member forgets who the others are, and they find themselves in a strange situation. Only Robin survives this weird incident. The unique plot can attract you to watch these four fillers, but skip them without worries.

Foxy’s Return Arc

  • Episodes: 225, 226

Foxy’s Return arc takes place right after the Ocean’s Dream arc, making it another back-to-back filler arc. This is the seventh filler arc of the series. The story of this arc is that the Straw Hats meet Foxy again, and they clash with each other. It would be wise to skip this arc as Foxy is one of the most hated characters in the One Piece fandom.

However, episodes 225 and 226 are also considered mixed canon episodes. Therefore, you should check them out if you don’t want to miss out on certain canon scenes. But I’m warning you you wouldn’t be able to tolerate these fillers!

Straw Hat’s Backstories Arc

  • Episodes: 279-283

As the title implies, these filler episodes focus on the backstories of the Straw Hat Pirates. This is nothing new as we have seen everything about them already. Each filler covers a certain Straw Hat and some episodes combine two backstories into an episode. That said, you can skip this filler arc without any doubts. But if you want to revisit the past, then you can gladly do so.

Straw Hat and Buggy’s Adventures Arc

  • Episodes: 291, 292, 303

In this filler arc, we get to see the Straw Hat Pirates along with Buggy set in the Edo Period of Japan. The dramas happening around this Grand Jipangu and during a festival called the Great Mochimaki Race are the highlights of this arc. You get to see Luffy sing again!

You can also see the Straw Hats donning the traditional Japanese outfit, which is similar to what you will see in a future canon arc. It’s a mini filler which is slightly entertaining to watch but skipping it won’t hurt you as well.

Post Ennies Lobby Filler Arc

  • Episodes: 317-319

After the Ennies Lobby arc, the Straw Hats will visit the Water 7 island again. This time during the Post Ennies Lobby arc, there is a mini filler arc in between where each of the Straw Hats will run an errand in each episode. The filler episodes are good for killing time, as they are enjoyable and you get to see the fun side of your favorite characters such as Zoro handling three babies.

Ice Hunter Arc

  • Episodes: 326-336

The Ice Hunter arc takes place after the Post Enies Lobby arc and is the eighth filler arc. When the Straw Hats are on their way to the Florian Triangle, they attempt to help the members of a damaged ship but soon discover that those members are part of Bounty Hunters. Thus, they set to fight against the crew. Whilst the One Piece canon hasn’t explored the bounty hunters concept well, it might be nice to watch these fillers, or you can skip it. It’s your choice.

Spa Island Arc

  • Episodes: 382-384

The Spa Island arc takes place right after the Thriller Bark arc. This is the ninth filler arc of the show, and like all other anime, it is surely a fan service with the spa concept. While it may be exciting to watch the Straw Hats have fun, they get interrupted by Foxy here and that can be annoying for some. So, these One Piece fillers also fall into the skippable list.

Boss Luffy Arc

  • Episodes: 406-407

Much like the Straw Hats and Buggy’s Adventures filler arc we saw earlier, this one is also set in the Edo period of Japan. In this alternate universe story, there is a major race called the Portable Shrine where the pirates can win up to 1,000,000 berries. Therefore, Luffy acts as Boss Luffy, and together with his crew, he participates in this race. This is a slightly boring arc that can be skipped at ease.

Little East Blue Arc

  • Episodes: 426-429

The Little East Blue Arc is considered a special anime-only filler arc. This arc needs to be watched before the One Piece Film: Strong World. The Straw Hats discover a strange island that looks the same as East Blue. So if you want to watch the Strong World movie, you have to see these fillers, or else easily skippable like the other skippable ones in our filler list.

A Special Retrospective Before Marineford Arc

  • Episodes: 457-458

There are two special filler episodes before the beginning of the Marineford arc (one of the best One Piece arcs). These specials are retrospective, meaning they offer a look back at some of the past events. Episode 457 focuses on Luffy recalling his past and Ace’s confrontation with Blackbeard.

Furthermore, episode 458 deeply covers how all the Marines including the admirals (check out the strongest admirals in One Piece) get ready for Ace’s execution. You can skip 457 and check out 458 alone if you are interested in seeing how the Marines work.

One Piece x Toriko Crossover 1

  • Episode: 492

One Piece collaborated with another popular anime named Toriko and this resulted in a crossover episode. To save their nakama who have been abducted by the Cocoalas, the Straw Hats and Toriko squad link up. If you are a fan of these two anime, you can watch this episode for sure. But if you don’t, then skip it without any thought.

Luffy’s Past

  • Episode: 499

This is a single-episode filler among the Postwar arc’s episodes. It’s easily one of the best filler episodes in One Piece as we get to see the ASL trio as they try to help Naguri. Naguri is a fan-favorite anime-only character and I highly recommend you to check this filler out as it ties in with the Roger Pirates. Do not miss this one as it is a special filler in our filler list!

Straw Hats Reaction

  • Episodes: 506

This is an anime-canon episode which is also referred to as a filler episode by the fandom. It is one of the best episodes as the Straw Hats learn about the shocking news about Marineford. It adds more depth to the story overall and I can recommend you to watch as you’ll love this episode for sure.

One Piece x Toriko Crossover 2

  • Episodes: 542

One Piece once again collaborated with Toriko to produce another crossover episode. So, just like the first crossover episode if you are a fan of both anime or interested to check this crossover, do watch it. Otherwise, it would be wise to skip this episode.

Z’s Ambition Arc

  • Episodes: 575-578

The Z’s ambition arc takes place after the time skip, thus, it is the first filler arc after the time skip. Similar to the arc right above, this movie serves as a setup for the One Piece Film: Z. The Straw Hat Pirates move to the Maubeugemour Sea of the New World and are dragged into a battle with the Neo-Marines. So if you plan to watch the OP Film: Z, you have to watch these four-episode fillers in One Piece.

One Piece X Dragon Ball X Toriko

  • Episodes: 590

Wouldn’t it be cool to see Luffy, Goku, and Toriko together? If you are a longtime fan of these three famous anime, what are you waiting for? just go and watch this one already. If you find this crossover meh, then skip it as usual like the other ones we have mentioned in our One Piece filler list.

Caesar Retrieval Arc

  • Episodes:626-628

The Caesar Retrieval Arc takes place after the Punk Hazard Arc. A group of dark figures kidnaps Caesar from the Straw Hats. Now, the Straw Hats and the Heart Pirates have to find him or more like kidnap him back again. Watch these fillers to know more about the troublesome villain Caesar.

Note:

Episode 628 titled “A Major Turnaround! Luffy’s Angry Iron Fist Strikes!” is a mixed canon/filler episode. You can watch from 19:00 to the end of the episode so that you don’t miss out on the canon part here.

Silver Mine Arc

  • Episodes: 747-750

The Silver Marine arc takes place after the Dressrosa arc. These episodes set the ground for the One Piece Film: Gold. The story is about how Luffy and Barto get kidnapped by the Silver Pirates. And now, they have to find a way to escape the pirates who live in a big fortress surrounded by silver mines. So as usual, you need to watch this arc if you want to stream the One Piece Film: Gold movie. But it is considered a bit boring among the fans. Thus it falls into the skippable category on our One Piece filler list.

Note:

Watch the initial minutes of episode 747 titled “The Silver Fortress! Luffy and Barto’s Great Adventure!” until 06:15 as it includes a brief canon scene at the start alone. You can skip the rest.

Straw Hats Rescue Operation

  • Episodes: 775

This is a one-episode filler in the Zou arc which focuses on the Straw Hats exploring the regions of Zou after the main aftermath. But still, there are many dangers arising which the Straw Hats must now face. It is a moderately enjoyable filler that falls under the time-pass material on our filler list but this doesn’t hold any rewatch value like any other best fillers here.

Marine Rookie Arc

  • Episodes: 780-782

The Marine Rookie arc takes place after the Zou arc and is the thirteenth filler arc of the show. While the crew is on the way to Whole Cake Island to retrieve Sanji, they run out of food supplies. So the Straw Hat Pirates plan to raid a marine base nearby and loot all the food by disguising themselves as Marines. As fun, as it might sound, it doesn’t live up to the type of hype, so you can watch these fillers to kill time or move to the main arcs (linked above).

Cidre Guild Arc

  • Episodes: 895,896

The Cidre Guild arc is the fourteenth filler arc in the series and takes in the middle of the Wano arc. It serves as a setup for the One Piece Stampede movie. The Straw Hats meet Boa Hancock unexpectedly and team up with her to fight against a team of bounty hunters known as the Cidre Guild. Once again, if you’re planning to watch the Stampede movie, you can watch these One Piece fillers according to the filler list, or choose to skip these two episodes. But the One Piece Stampede movie is celebrated among fans, so it is worth checking out.

Uta’s Past

  • Episodes: 1029,1030

Uta’s Past is the fifteenth filler arc of the show and was aired recently. This arc directly ties together with the One Piece Film: Red. It is nice to see the addition of Uta, which ties in with Luffy’s past. But only Uta’s character is considered canon and the events that took place haven’t been confirmed.

So if you plan on watching the latest One Piece Red movie, these episodes are a must-watch, or you can continue watching the Raid on Onigashima. This is the last filler arc we have on our One Piece filler list at this moment.

So, if you are a dedicated OP fan, you can watch filler arcs in your free time, and they won’t let you down. That said, share your favorite filler arcs with fans in the comments below.

Can I skip fillers in One Piece?

Yes! You can skip the filler episodes in the One Piece anime. But there are some filler arcs that you might need to watch before streaming a certain few movies. As a result, if you want to watch One Piece movies, you need to watch the filler arcs.

Dressrosa was considered the longest arc in OP until the Wano Country arc took over. So, the Wano Country arc is now officially the longest arc in One Piece right now.
