So, find out the heroic moments and events your favorite character went through to become the MVP of the Egghead arc in One Piece.

1. Monkey D. Luffy

You can always count on our beloved rubbery protagonist to be an MVP in every arc in One Piece’s history. At first, he faced Rob Lucci in the Egghead arc and humiliated him. Next, he had his much-awaited rematch against Admiral Kizaru and emerged a victor. What we didn’t expect at all was the arrival of the Five Elders on Egghead Island and Luffy clashing against them in his Gear 5 form.

Even though he couldn’t defeat the Gorosei, Luffy did wonders in his battle against the Five Elders. He held his ground and liberated everyone around him with his Nika powers and a bright smile on his face. Luffy transformed into a god-like savior and showcased how far he had grown in terms of power.

There used to be times when we wondered if Luffy could win against an admiral. Now, the power scaling has broken the ceiling and Luffy has proven why he is one of the Emperors of the Sea.

2. Dr. Vegapunk and His Satellites

After a long wait, Dr. Vegapunk and his satellites finally appeared in the story. We got to see all his personifications in the form of satellites. Together, the Vegapunks played a vital role and sacrificed themselves for the greater good in the end (not you, York).

As One Piece chapter 1123 revealed, the main body Stella, Shaka, and Pythagoras, have always been ahead of the World Government and sacrificed themselves to reveal the truth about the not-so-well-known Void Century in his final message to the whole world.

As they predicted, every Vegapunk started to lose their lives one by one, except Lilith, in the process of executing their master plan successfully. They didn’t let their deaths go in vain, as each Vegapunk greatly helped the Straw Hats flee and changed the course of the history of this world in this arc.

The fans won’t forget Dr. Vegapunk’s self-sacrifice for years to come, as they laid the foundation for the Final Saga.

3. Vinsmoke Sanji

The wings of the future Pirate King always register their seats as the MVPs of every arc in One Piece. First, we have to address that Sanji fans were having their time of life in the Egghead arc, with Sanji collecting a lot of accolades by clashing against big shots such as Kizaru, St. Saturn, St. Nusjuro, and others.

In a nutshell, Sanji was the knight in shining armor who rescued and helped so many characters in this arc and is inarguably the MVP of the Egghead arc. In Chapter 1123, we learned how he played an important role in fulfilling Vegapunk’s death wish. He did not save the scientist so that Vegapunk’s message could be broadcast to the whole world.

4. Roronoa Zoro

Zoro also achieved greater feats by clashing against numerous adversaries at Egghead Island, such as Kaku, S-Hawk, and Rob Lucci. He easily overpowered his foes and was met with an even bigger challenge at the end; his clash against St. Ethanbaron Nusjuro, one of the Five Elders, who is also a swordsman.

Although this encounter didn’t turn into a full-fledged battle, Zoro still managed to deal a powerful strike to this Gandhi-esque elder with the help of Jinbe. Zoro remained unscathed after his battle at Egghead, which shows his growth after his hardships in the Wano Country arc.

5. Kuma and Bonney

At the start of this arc, we expected this to be a short ride and we didn’t at all expect to see Kuma and his daughter Bonney taking center stage. The revelation of Bartholomew Kuma’s backstory and his deep connection to the Sun God – Nika lore made every fan shed tears like a child.

Undoubtedly, he is one of the best-written characters by Oda and wins the crown for the best father in One Piece. His flashback made this arc even more special for fans and we won’t ever forget his ever-so-satisfying punch against St. Saturn.

Now, coming back to Jewelry Bonney, the sheer amount of suffering she has gone through as a kid is unspeakable. Saturn pulled away everyone dear to Bonney yet she didn’t back down. Bonney is just twelve years old yet she stepped up for her freedom. She met her and her father’s idol and became liberated to transform into Joy Girl. It was a perfect powerup for her thematically and she utilized it perfectly to play her part in the Egghead Incident.

6. Emet – The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant Robot named Emet was teased so long to come back in action by Oda sensei since the start of the Egghead arc. Even though his part was a bit stretched, Emet’s character has grown on us and slowly became one of the favorite characters of this arc. As Emet stepped into the final game against the Five Elders, everything that followed was purely magnificent.

Emet played his part well to hold off those monsters and showcased its tremendous power against them. Finally, it saved everyone by sending the Gorosei back to their place and making the Marines pass out. It’s all thanks to the phenomenal conqueror’s haki stored inside it by Joy Boy as well. Emet may not have had a longer screen time, but it rightly played its card to become the savior at the end. We hope this is not the end for Emet and Oda still has plans for the Iron Giant in the final war.

Honorable Mentions

We can’t end the Egghead Arc MVP list without talking about characters like Monkey D. Garp and Franky. Garp sacrificed his life to protect the future of the Marines and mainly his protege Koby in the events at Hachinosu Island earlier. Monkey D. Garp’s last dance to show his raw power even in old age can’t be forgotten by fans for ages.

Next up, Franky was expected to be the center of attention as he got to meet his idol, Dr. Vegapunk on this futuristic island. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to interact and share his love for technology as war broke out as soon as the Straw Hats entered the island. Still, he deserves praise for coming in clutch in various moments such as saving his captain, attacking an Elder, saving Bonney, and a lot more.

That said, if you feel like we have missed out on any character who deserves to be mentioned as an MVP as well, then feel free to let us know in the comments below.
