After unveiling it at the IFA 2019 in Berlin earlier this year, HMD Global has officially launched the next generation of its Nokia 7-series Android One smartphone in India. Called Nokia 7.2, the phone comes with a cool ‘Nordic’ design principle that the company says honors the Finnish glass making heritage and lends a premium finish to the new device.
Nokia 7.2 Specifications and Features
A successor to the Nokia 7.1 released last year, the Nokia 7.2 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ ‘PureDisplay’ panel with a teardrop notch. It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC and, comes with 4/6GB of RAM alongside up to 64GB of storage. The phone carries a 3,500 mAh battery and runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with the promise of a quick update to Android 10.
The Nokia 7.2 is the first smartphone in the HMD portfolio to feature a rear-facing triple-camera module, paired with ZEISS optics. The setup consists of a 48MP sensor with Quad Pixel technology, an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide lens and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone comes with a 20MP sensor with quad-pixel technology. The Quad Pixel technology combines four pixels into one to create better images in all conditions.
Nokia 7.2 introduces three new and exclusive ZEISS bokeh styles. Portrait mode combines powerful imaging experiences that recreate the way legendary ZEISS lenses produce high visual impact and signature blur with the ZEISS Modern, ZEISS Swirl and ZEISS Smooth modes. It also comes with an AI-powered night mode that the company claims enables users to snap better images in low light by combining ‘image fusion and explosion stacking’.
