In Short
  • Netflix has confirmed that live-action One Piece Season 3 will be released in 2027.
  • The third season of the live-action series is titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta.
  • One Piece Season 3 entered production in November 2025, even before Season 2's premiere.

One Piece Season 2 saw Luffy and the Straw Hats enter the Grand Line, and the live-action TV series reached new heights. We then quickly learned that Netflix has renewed One Piece for season 3, and the production is already underway. Today, Netflix has confirmed that One Piece Season 3 will focus on ‘The Battle of Alabasta,’ along with the release date of the upcoming season.

Netflix Live-Action One Piece Season 3 Releases Next Year

First things first, the live-action One Piece Season 3 is officially titled “One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta.”

Since the third season entered production last year, it is confirmed to premiere in 2027. Now, Netflix hasn’t yet revealed an exact release date for One Piece Season 3, but at least we don’t have to wait three more years for a new season – like we had to with Season 2.

As teased in the One Piece Season 2 ending, Season 3 will turn the focus towards the Alabasta arc, one of the best arcs in One Piece. The foundation for the Battle of Alabasta has already been laid in One Piece Season 2, and the whole of the Alabasta arc is expected to be adapted in the next season. I recommend reading our One Piece Season 2 review and watching it to meet Vivi before you visit her homeland, Alabasta.

The Alabasta arc is the first major (and big) arc in the history of the One Piece series. So, it will be a colossal task for the production team to condense the source material and faithfully adapt the entire Alabasta war in live-action format.

That said, there’s nothing to worry about, in my opinion. Despite being a die-hard One Piece manga and anime fan, I have complete trust in the live-action team. They should be able to cover all of the Alabasta arc in a short period, as they have proved not just once, but twice that they can bring Oda’s vision to life in the live-action medium without tarnishing its reputation.

So, One Piece is in safe hands, and we are sure that One Piece Season 3 will (likely) be hailed as the best season yet next year.

In addition, Netflix announced a two-part animated One Piece LEGO special featuring Usopp and Chopper today. The animated special episodes will be released on Netflix on September 29, 2026.

With the live-action cast for popular roles in One Piece Season 3 already revealed, such as Ace, Bon Clay, Mr. 1, and Miss Doublefinger, we expect more announcements on the way.
