Deku Becomes Quirkless as One For All Power Vanishes

In his final battle against Tomura Shigaraki, Deku lost his One For All power to destroy him. It was a great price to pay for the salvation of the world. However, the last few embers of his quirk remained at the end of the war.
In the final chapter, Deku recounted the events that shaped his life and the society in which he grew up. The narrator, aka Deku, declared that this is the story of how he became a great hero in Chapter 1. In the end, Deku remarked that he and his friends rose to the occasion and became heroes during the war, and saved not just the day but the entire world from All For One.
Deku started as a quirkless boy but still aimed to become a hero one day. His dream came to fruition with One For All bestowed upon him by All Might. However, in the end, he confirmed that the final ember of One For All also vanished from his body around the time he graduated from U.A. High.
It was clear that Midoriya’s story came full circle with him becoming a quirkless hero in the end, just as he was before. We are then presented with the much-awaited eight-year time skip after Deku’s hero journey concludes.
The Most-Awaited Time Skip in MHA Happens After the Great War
We have been following the lives of our favorite young heroes since their teenage years for a long time in My Hero Academia. As many hoped for a time skip, it eventually became reality as we finally saw our heroes enter adulthood with an 8-year time skip in the story. Deku (now quirkless) became a teacher at the school where he studied, and we are given a glimpse of all the heroes’ roles in the future.
Mei Hatsume established a design firm, newly married Gentle and La Brava started a new company called GeL Inc., Tentacole’s unyielding efforts to end racism against heteromorphs earned him the Imamura Peace Prize and many more.
Although we have a new world where the crime rates and villains have plummeted, Ochaco Uraraka introduced and led the “Quirk Counselling” program to help a new generation of heroes. Her friends Creati, Froppy, and Ingenium were also seen aiding her in this program to change the lives of people with quirks.
Moreover, we have always wanted to see who would top the charts of the top Pro Heroes in the new generation. It is confirmed that Mirio Togata, aka Lemillion, became the No. 1 Pro Hero, beating Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady now. More heroes, such as Bakugo, Shoto, Monoma, Juzo, etc., have also begun competing and aiming for the top spot.
While we expected Deku to be No. 1 in the charts, that didn’t happen in the story. However, he stopped the greatest threat known to mankind by sacrificing his own quirk, which made him the greatest hero of his era. Without a quirk, he decided to use his hero experience to guide aspiring young heroes in the school who can follow in his footsteps in the future.
The New Age of Heroes Begins
On his way to meet All Might, Deku encountered a young boy named Dai, who was worried about becoming a hero with his unconventional quirk. This conversation was a throwback to the first interaction between All Might and Izuku, where it all began.
As Dai wondered if he could become a hero, Deku assured him with his heart and encouraged him. Deku always remained the source of inspiration for everyone in the story, and he continued to do so until the end.
Even though it seemed as if Deku’s time as a hero was over, Horikoshi sensei delighted the fans with a surprise in the end. It was revealed that a new mechanical suit was built for him based on All Might’s battle against All For One. This invention program was led by Mei and Melissa and sponsored by all of Deku’s friends from Class A, especially Bakugo.
All Might once again presented Deku with the power to become an active superhero. All Might also remarked that he had earned this power this time, and Katsuki invited him to join along with the others. Donning the new mechanical suit, Deku joined his superhero pals to protect this world once again.
In the end, Deku was seen noticing the spirit of Tomura looking up to him as he embarked on a new superhero journey along with his friends. Kohei Horikoshi concluded his brilliant superhero manga by stating that these heroes will continue to help and shield the world from evil like they have always done.
