Motorola One Zoom, Moto E6 Plus Launched at IFA 2019

Lenovo launched a couple of new mid-range Motorola smartphones at IFA 2019 in Berlin on Thursday. While the Motorola One Zoom is the more premium of the two with a rear-facing quad-cam module that includes 3x optical zoom, the Moto E6 Plus is a significantly less evocative device in terms of its features and hardware specs.

Motorola One Zoom Features and Specifications

The Motorola One Zoom features a 19:9 6.4-inch full-HD+ (2340×1080) OLED Max Vision display protected by 2.5D Panada King glass, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC. It also comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, expandable by a microSD card. The One Zoom is built out of 6000-series aluminum and has glass back protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Imaging options on the Motorola One Zoom include a rear-facing quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor (4-in-1 pixel binning, f/1.7 aperture, 1.6-micron pixels, OIS, PDAF), a 16MP secondary sensor paired to a 117-degree wide-angle lens, an 8MP sensor with a telephoto lens (3x optical zoom, OIS) and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 25MP camera (4-in-1 pixel binning, effective 1.8-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture) for selfies and video chats.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (v3.1) and a 3.5mm headphone socket, while on-board sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer and a proximity sensor. It comes with an on-screen fingerprint scanner, runs Android 9 Pie and carries a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

Moto E6 Plus Features and Specifications

The Moto E6 Plus features a 6.1-inch HD+ (1560×720) Max Vision IPS display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, and will be offered in 2GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB options, with a microSD card slot for expanded storage. Imaging options on the Moto E6 Plus include a dual rear camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixels) and a 2MP depth sensor. It also has an 8MP (f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixels) sensor on the front for selfies and video chats.

Connectivity options on the E6 Plus include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, microUSB and a 3.5mm headphone socket, while on-board sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor. It comes with a physical fingerprint scanner on the back, runs Android 9 Pie and carries a 3,000mAh battery.

Price and Availability

The Motorola One Zoom has been priced at $449.99 in the US (around Rs. 32,400) and €429 (around Rs. 34,000) in the EU. It is already available in the US, Europe and Latin America. As for the Moto E6 Plus, it will go on sale across Europe from today for 139. It will also be available soon in Asia and Latin America. There’s no word on when (or if) either of these two devices will be launched in India.
