MIUI 10 Stable Update Starts Rolling Out to Some Devices in China

MIUI 10 Features

Xiaomi had been beta testing its next major software update ‘MIUI 10’ for the past three-odd months but the Chinese giant has now started rolling the stable build to some devices in its home country.

The rollout of MIUI 10 stable builds started earlier this week, with the over-the-update (OTA) becoming available for the Mi 6, Mi Mix 2, and the Mi 8 SE. MIUI Forums, however, is now flooded with reports that the stable update has found its way to Redmi Note 5 and Mi Note 3 in China.

As per screenshots posted in MIUI Forums, the build number and update size varies from device to device. For example, the build numbers for the Mi 8 SE and Mi Mix 2 are 10.0.1.0.OEBCNFH (930 MB) and 10.0.0.1.0.ODECNFH (620 MB) respectively. Check out the details for Redmi Note 5 right here:

This much-awaited update brings the latest MIUI experience to Xiaomi users, giving them access to a new Android Pie-like UI, gesture navigation, along with a revamped and crisp recents menu.

You also get a ton of AI features, including Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice assistant, AI portraits, and functionalities that the company had skipped in MIUI 9. This means you now have native autofill and picture-in-picture mode support, which is a must-have for me.

It seems Xiaomi has rolled out the stable MIUI 10 update only to its first batch of devices, but all other devices won’t have to wait too long. This update should find its way to your Redmi or Mi-branded device over the coming weeks.

As for India, there’s currently no official timeline available for the MIUI 10 stable rollout, but we can expect to receive the same over the next couple odd months — if you go by rollout for previous years. So, how excited are you to finally be able to try out MIUI 10? Tell us in the comments below.
