Arc System Works developed the game in collaboration with Marvel Games. At launch, it will be available digitally on PS5 and PC. Arc System Works recently announced an open beta for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls from July 24 to July 26, 2026. Blade is confirmed to be one of the new playable characters in the open beta. Everything You Need to Know About Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is a 4v4 team-based fighter built around synergy, assists, and layered mechanics. First announcement for Marvel Tokon showcased Iron-Man, Spider-Man, and many iconic characters. The latest trailer spotlighted Storm leading a rebuilt X-Men squad that includes Magik, Wolverine, and Danger as Earth faces a new threat.

Marvel Tokon Story and Episode Mode

The new Marvel fighting game brings two styles of game modes apart from the typical tag-fighter. Episode Mode blends American comic book structure with manga-style presentation. The story unfolds through motion comic sequences with full voice acting in ten languages. On PS5, spatial audio and DualSense features are used in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls to deepen immersion.

Core Gameplay and Mechanics

Combat revolves around Light, Medium, and Heavy attacks, alongside a Unique Attack button that highlights each character’s defining mechanic. Assemble functions as the assist button, while Quick Skill allows simplified one-button specials. Motion inputs still offer more serious damage, so high-level play will reward execution.

Unlike traditional tag fighters, teams share a single life bar. Matches follow a best-of-five format. You start with two active characters and unlock the third and fourth as rounds progress, which shifts momentum in unusual ways.

The Assemble Gauge fuels team mechanics such as armored attacks, counters, and defensive swaps. The Skill Gauge powers EX specials and supers, with level three supers costing 100 meters.

Team Systems and Assists

Team and assists are a huge part of Marvel Tokon’s gameplay. Assists are tied to team slots rather than fixed per character. One slot grants a projectile-type assist, another an anti-air, and the third a unique character-specific assist. Assists also change properties during combos, acting as extenders at the cost of meter.

Tagging into an assist character is possible during or immediately after their move, but the system appears more controlled than past crossover titles like Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
