Spider-Man is coming to our screens in 2026 with Brand New Day. While Marvel has not revealed a trailer for the movie yet, plot leaks are making the rounds on the internet. It is expected that the Punisher will appear in the movie alongside Spider-Man. This is the first time in the MCU that Spider-Man and Punisher will share the screen. However, in Marvel comics, Punisher and Spider-Man have appeared together in several editions, and one of these could likely be adapted for the movie. So, here are 5 Marvel Comics where Punisher and Spider-Man have appeared together.

1. The Amazing Spider-Man #129

The Amazing Spider-Man #129, released in 1974, can be referred to as the most iconic Spider-Man and Punisher comic because this is the one where The Punisher made his debut in Marvel Comics. In this story, we see that Frank is manipulated by a villain named Jackal into believing that Spider-Man is a murderer, and hence, The Punisher goes on a hunt to find and kill Spider-Man. They both get into a heated and action-packed confrontation before things are cleared between them, and they team up to take down the actual villain.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man #201-202

The Amazing Spider-Man #201-202 is a two-issue story that perfectly demonstrates the contrast between Punisher and Spider-Man. In this story, Spider-Man and The Punisher appear together to stop a drug operation run by a villain named Jacobi.

However, Punisher is out for vengeance and wants to kill Jacobi while Spider-Man is trying to stop the drug operation and rescue a reporter named April Maye. They both successfully dismantle the drug operation, and just when Punisher is about to kill Jacobi, Spider-Man stops him, displaying his heroic nature, but Jacobi is ultimately killed in a fatal car crash.

3.  Punisher War Journal #14

In this comic issue, we see Punisher and Spider-Man go against Nazis who have taken the Daily Bugle under siege and are threatening to kill everyone there, including Jameson and Mary Jane. While the Punisher busts in guns blazing, Spider-Man goes on to find Jameson and Mary Jane.

The Punisher is enraged by the Neo-Nazis and is dropping them like flies while looking for their leader. However, when he does find him, Frank lets him live, and the reason is the influence of Spider-Man’s attempts not to hurt anyone, be it a regular Joe or a villain. This is slightly ironic because our guy here gunned down almost the villain’s entire crew before letting him live.

4. Civil War

In this Marvel comic, Punisher and Spider-Man are not exactly working together, but rather The Punisher saves Spider-Man’s life. In Marvel’s Civil War comic event, the heroes are divided over the Superhuman Registration Act and ultimately engage in a brawl among themselves.

Spider-Man quickly joins Iron Man’s side in favour of the new law, but soon realises that Stark is wrong and goes rogue. S.H.I.E.L.D. starts to chase down Spider-Man with their new team, called The Thunderbolts, and is almost killed before being saved by none other than Frank Castle aka the one and only Punisher.

5. Spider-Man / Punisher: Designer Genes

This single-issue read from Marvel Comics once again brings together Spider-Man and The Punisher. Spidey and Frank cross paths when bodies start dropping on a winter night in New York City, as both of them are investigating the murders taking place in the city. Both of them soon discover Sabertooth’s involvement in the murders and a deeper plot revolving around Weapon X and Roxxon Corporations.

After having a conflict with each other, both of them decide to form a temporary alliance to take down Roxxon and their attempts to make mutant hybrids. Even though they ultimately succeed in their mission, the frenemy dynamic shared by them is something truly worth witnessing in this comic.
