One Piece Live Action Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

After making fans wait for over two years, One Piece Season 2 has finally arrived on Netflix. It is indeed everything that fans were hoping for. The series has received significant praise from several fans for perfectly adapting the events of the source material. However, it has also drawn criticism from some who feel the live-action is a bit rushed. Given the anticipation, the mixed reviews didn’t slow down the momentum. So, it’s obvious that following the concluding episode that features Chopper becoming a part of the Straw Hats Crew, fans are curious to know everything about One Piece Season 3.

Is One Piece Live Action Season 3 confirmed?

It’s good news, folks. One Piece Season 3 has already been confirmed by Netflix. When the live-action adaptation was originally released on Netflix in 2023, fans were already confident that the series would stay with them for a long time, thanks to the mountain of content in the source material.

Actors, including Vincent Regan (Monkey D. Garp), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), and more, started hinting at the potential OPLA Season 3 since late 2024. In fact, when Mackenyu was asked in an interview sometime in early 2025 about what future projects he is looking forward to working on, the actor clearly stated that before proceeding with One Piece Season 3, he had a couple of projects lined up.

“The next project is going to be ‘One Piece’ Season 2. We do have projects lined up for this year before we shoot Season 3 of ‘One Piece,’ but I can’t tell you anything about that, so it’s not going to be fun for y’all.”

The official announcement for the renewal of Live action One Piece Season 3 finally came out in August 2025, and the filming of One Piece Season 3 started in November of the same year.

When Will One Piece Season 3 Be Released?

One Piece Season 3 is in the mid-production stage; we can expect it to be released sometime in late 2027 or early 2028. Like most of the anime live-action adaptations out there, One Piece involves heavy CGI to do justice to the sea adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates and the Devil Fruit abilities. Also, given the long gaps between filming and the official release of the previous seasons, you shouldn’t expect a shorter time gap for the gigantic, highly anticipated Season 3.

What Story Arcs Will One Piece Season 3 Cover?

The final moments of One Piece Season 2 directly lead the television series to the Alabasta Arc. So, expect this one to be the primary arc that the new season will adapt. While many fans are eager to see multiple arcs getting adapted in the third season, reports state otherwise. The Alabasta arc is huge, spanning 63 episodes, making it enough for the first three episodes at least.

OPLA Season 2 sees Luffy and the crew promising Vivi that they would not leave her side, not until they help her defeat every member of Baroque Works. So, we may get to see some of the amazing fight sequences on our screens in One Piece Season 3. That being said, Alabasta won’t be the only story arc to be featured in the third season. Jaya, Skypiea, Long Ring Long Land, and Water 7 Arcs will at least be a part.

Which One Piece Live-Action Characters Will Return in Season 3?

One Piece live-action Season 3 will see the main crew embarking on an even more challenging adventure. These include Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp. In the second season, Chopper and Vivi also become an integral part of the Straw Hat Pirates, so the subsequent chapter won’t make any sense without them. However, Vivi will only be with the Straw Hats until the Alabasta Arc is over.

Mr. 0, the villainous warlord of the sea, and the other boroque members who were introduced in the second season, will also reprise their roles in OPLA Season 3. In addition, Blackbeard and Gold Roger’s son, Ace, are also expected to enter the game in the new season.
