Although the new spin-off manga, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, takes place several decades after the main events of JJK, author Gege Akutami never misses referencing the most important characters and things from the main series. In the previous chapter, the author brought back his favorite Itadori Yuji. Now, Gege teases bringing back the black rope, a cursed tool that gave Gojo a tough time in the past, for a good cause this time.

There Is a New Black Rope in JJK Modulo
No one can forget the exhilarating battle between Gojo Satoru and Miguel during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. Though the six-eyes prodigy, Gojo Satoru, effortlessly bested Miguel in this fight, it should be noted that Miguel was the very first person to cancel Gojo’s broken infinity technique using the special grade cursed tool, Black Rope.
Despite the Black Rope being so powerful, it came with a worrying limitation. The more one utilizes the rope, the faster it disintegrates from existence. The Black Rope was half destroyed after Miguel clashed with Gojo. Later, when Yuta, along with Miguel, went to Africa to retrieve the rope, it completely vanished after being fully used at this point.
If the rope had been available, they would have been able to free Gojo from the Prison Realm using it as Tengen mentioned. But the hopes for Black Rope were destroyed that day. Now, after seven decades, the Black Rope has come into existence once again, as confirmed by Usami in JJK Modulo: Chapter 11.
The Black Rope Can Unite the Simurians and Humans in JJK Modulo
Remember when Miguel said that the Black Rope was woven by his family members for a very long time. Since Modulo takes place around seven decades later, the members of Miguel’s clan must have reproduced another Black Rope during this time. So what is the use of a Black Rope this time, you ask?
This time, it will not be used in a battle; instead, Usami is considering using it to secure peaceful relations with the Simurians. The leader of the Deskunte Clan has cursed Dabra’s sister with a dangerous death curse. As the Simurians were seeking opinions from human sorcerers to eliminate the curse without harming Dabra’s sister, Usami introduced them to the Black Rope. a cursed tool that can nullify any cursed techniques.
Currently, it is not in the possession of the Japanese Sorcerers, and Usami noted that they would have to obtain it from Africa, possibly from Miguel’s descendants. However, it will not be an easy task to acquire this rare, cursed tool. But Usami has promised Dabra that he will do everything in his power to obtain the Black Rope and lift the curse on his sister.
The relationship between the humans and Simurians is about to crack as the latter have found that human sorcerers used to kill cursed spirits (kalyans) in the past. So, the Black Rope could become a vital tool to unite them in the future. Moreover, we saw an African man (having an appearance similar to Miguel) helping Tsurugi and Maru catch an Octopus. This is no coincidence, and this mysterious man can help the sorcerers find Black Rope in Africa.
