After taking the telecom industry by storm, Reliance Jio has set its sights at the Fiber to the Home industry in India, and after a long time previewing the service in select locations across the country, Jio is finally launching the Jio Fiber internet service in earnest today. So here’s everything you need to know about Jio Fiber, it’s plans and pricing, the speeds you can get, and everything in between.
Jio Fiber: Pricing and Plans
At the Jio AGM in August, we got to know the details around the company’s Jio Fiber service, and it is really affordable for the kinds of speeds it’s promising. The base plan with Jio Fiber is set at Rs. 700 per month and will come with 100 Mbps speeds. While that should suffice for most home users, businesses might be more interested in the company’s top-of-the-line offering in terms of plans — a Rs. 10,000 per month plan that will offer 1Gbps speeds on the connection.
Jio Fiber: Availability
As of this writing, Jio Fiber is available in a bunch of cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Surat, Vadodara, Chennai, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bhubaneshwar, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Surat, Agra, Meerut, Vizag, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Haridwar, Gaya, Patna, Port Blair, Punjab, among others. The company did announce at the AGM that it plans on making it available across major towns and cities in the country, so we can expect this list to grow with time.

Jio Fiber: Offers
If you get a Jio Fiber connection, Reliance Jio is also bundling a lot of offers along with your connection. Subscribers will be able to consume content on Jio’s suite of apps including JioCinema, JioTV, and JioSaavn.
The company also has a “Jio First Day First Show” offering where premium subscribers will be able to watch movies at home on the day of their release. Along with that, the company is offering free 4K LED TVs, and 4K set-top boxes to Jio Fiber subscribers under the company’s “Welcome Offer”.

Jio Fiber: How to Apply
So, if after reading all of that you can’t wait to subscribe to Jio Fiber, here’s how you can do that. It’s a simple process, really. You simply have to register your interest in Jio Fiber on the company’s website, post which a Jio Fiber representative will contact you and get the router installed in your home, provided that there’s a Jio Fiber line in your location.
Once the router has been installed, Jio Fiber will be activated within 2 hours and you’ll be able to enjoy high speed internet connectivity.
Jio Fiber: Installation Charges
Jio is offering free installation for Jio Fiber. However, subscribers will have to pay a refundable deposit of Rs. 2,500 for the Jio Fiber router that will be installed in their house. This refundable deposit can be claimed back at any time by the customer.
