Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5 has just hit the air, and while the episode itself was not necessarily the most eventful, it did introduce certain elements that could be instrumental as the show proceeds. The highlight of this episode was Peacemaker moving to the alternate dimension permanently, but another aspect of the latest episode caught the attention of fans. In the very opening scene of Peacemaker Season 2, episode 5, we see that while trying to take down Peacemaker, Sasha Bordeaux is revealed to be a cyborg. The question is, is this the same case in the DC comics? Let’s find out.
Did Sasha Bordeaux Become a Cyborg in the Comics?
Sasha Bordeaux’s transformation into a cyborg is one of the most haunting twists in DC Comics. Sasha was originally Bruce Wayne’s bodyguard, who later discovered his identity as Batman. Sasha’s life steered into global espionage when she was drawn into Checkmate’s orbit.
During the OMAC Project (2005), she was captured, experimented on, and eventually infected with Brother Eye’s nanotech, which violently converted her into an OMAC-class cyborg. Unlike most victims, though, Sasha resisted the AI’s control, retaining her humanity even while her body was partially mechanized.
However, the story has been altered in the DCU version of the character. In Peacemaker Season 2, we are told that Sasha was badly injured in an accident and was recovered by ARGUS. Then the people at ARGUS put her back together with mechanical parts, hence turning her into a cyborg who is also a capable agent for the organisation. So, while the story has been changed a bit, Sasha Bordeaux was indeed a Cyborg in DC comics and continues to do so in James Gunn’s new DCU.
