Is My Hero Academia Season 8 the Last Season?

Kohei Horikoshi’s superhero manga, My Hero Academia, was introduced to the world of anime with an adaptation by Studio Bones Film in 2016. What followed was a decade-long run full of intriguing superhero drama and legendary action sequences, which made MHA one of the great modern shonen series. Now, My Hero Academia is returning with a new season in October, covering the final saga of the series. So, is My Hero Academia season 8 the final season of the series? Let’s find it out here.

In case you didn’t know, the previous season, MHA season 7, adapted until chapter 398 in the Final War arc. Therefore, My Hero Academia season 8 will pick up from where it left off last year and will adapt the following arcs: The Final War arc (chapters 398- 424) and the Epilogue Arc (425-431).

Only 34 chapters are left to be adapted in the entire My Hero Academia series. The seventh season adapted a total of 70 chapters in 21 episodes. If the rumors are right, My Hero Academia will feature 11 episodes and completely adapt the last remaining arcs of the manga. My Hero Academia season 8 is already confirmed to be the final season of the series by the production staff. Therefore, each episode of the final season will cover 3 or 3.5 chapters in line with its previous seasons.

Premiering on October 4, My Hero Academia’s final season will air for 11 weeks straight and will conclude on December 13. Therefore, yes, My Hero Academia will end in 2025 after airing for ten years.

Will There be My Hero Academia Season 9?

All the remaining 34 chapters will be adapted in the eighth season, including the epilogue of the MHA series. Therefore, there won’t be a new season, i.e., season 9 of My Hero Academia in the future, and it has already been confirmed by the studios that MHA season 8 is the last. Hence, don’t get your hopes up for a new season and prepare to bid goodbye to our favorite superhero anime, which kept us entertained for a decade.

Yes! The MHA manga has already ended in August 2024, and now it is time for the My Hero Academia anime to conclude in December 2025.
