Cate Dunlap is easily one of the most disliked characters in Gen V, and by the end of Season 2 episode 1, it looks like we finally get rid of her. We see that Cate frees Jordan and Emma from captivity and tries to be friends with them once again. When Jordan and Emma went out to look for Marie, Cate followed them and found out that Marie had talked to Starlight and wanted her to tell Vought that she did. When Marie refused, she tried to use her powers but was fought off by Jordan, leading to Cate enduring a fatal injury. So, now the question is, did Cate die in Gen V Season 2? Let’s find out.
Does Cate Die in Gen V Season 2?
Even though it looked like the injury to the head killed her, it turns out that Cate did not die in Gen V Season 2 Episode 1. However, she did get injured pretty badly, and the injury broke her skull. Due to her injury, she is unable to use her powers, making her completely vulnerable.
Moreover, from her point of view, she was betrayed by Marie, Emma, and Jordan, who left her to die, so she wants to make them pay for what they did to her. She went to Dean Cipher to do something about it and tell Homelander about this, but he refused to do so and told Cate that making the call would backfire on her.
So, now that she has been completely shut down, we can’t really say what she is going to do, and we will have to wait for new episodes to find out more.
