These are the newest additions to the loot pool, thanks to Team Ice King’s efforts in the global Showdown event. Where to Find Ice King Gauntlets in Fortnite
You can find the Ice King Gauntlets in Fortnite by defeating the Ice King boss at Frigid Fortress. This is one of the many new map changes, replacing the Clawsy Lodge POI on the northern side of the map. You can find the Ice King in and around the massive main castle, which is reminiscent of Polar Peak from Chapter 1 Season 7.
While the Frigid Fortress is the primary spawn point for the Ice King, he is an Echo Boss in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. You can also find him in other snow-covered areas, like around the outskirts of the Dark Dominion POI. You need to take him down so that he drops the Ice King Gauntlets Mythic, which you can then pick up and equip.
How to Defeat Ice King in Fortnite
Taking on the Ice King is no simple challenge in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. This is because, unlike previous seasons, where bosses fought solo, the Ice King is accompanied by Lady Winterfrost, another Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass skin, making this a duo boss fight.
Before you start fighting the Ice King, you need to eliminate Lady Winterfrost first. She carries Chug Splashes with her and will actively heal the Ice King during the fight. After you take her out, you can focus on the Ice King.
The Ice King will actively use his gauntlets to try to take you down. However, as long as you maintain your distance and unload into him with accuracy should be fine. It is important to remember that if you see the Ice King charge up a large blue aura, you need to build to defend yourself or use mobility items like a Skyline Deployer to get out of the blast zone as soon as possible. Once you take the Ice King down, he will drop the Ice King Gauntlets Mythic, which you can now use for yourself.
How to Use Ice King Gauntlets in Fortnite
The Ice King Gauntlets come with two frost-based abilities that players can use. Their primary attack is the Ice Attack (R2/RT or Left Click), which shoots fast-moving shards of ice that deal significant impact damage and apply a brief Chilled status (sliding effect) to enemies.
Their secondary attack is the Ice Storm (L2/LT or Right Click), which unleashes a massive frost blast that deals damage over time to enemies caught in its AoE and obscures their vision.
With the Ice King Gauntlets now in the game, Team Ice King is leading the global Fortnite Showdown event, and it looks like Team Foundation is going to have to work hard to catch up in the following weeks and unlock items like the Seven Power Gloves.
