How to Make Potion of Strength in Minecraft

Items Needed to Make a Strength Potion in Minecraft

Depending on the type of potion of strength, you’ll need different items. However, we’ll list all the items needed for these recipes below and you may decide which one you want. So, here are all the ingredients you’ll need:

• 1 Brewing stand
• At least 2 blaze powder
• 1 or more awkward potion(s)
• 1 Redstone dust
• 1 Glowstone dust
• 1 Gunpowder
• 1 Dragon’s breath

Glowstone dust is dropped by the glowstone block in the Nether. Gunpowder is an item dropped by creepers and ghasts. Dragon’s breath is obtained when you use empty glass bottles on purple clouds created by the Ender Dragon.

Minecraft Strength Potion Brewing Recipes

Below you’ll find descriptions for brewing processes of the regular strength potion, extended, enhanced, splash, and lingering strength potions. With that, follow the steps below

1. Strength Potion 1

Effect Time: 3 minutes

Once you have the required items, let’s start by making the most basic strength potion in Minecraft:

• Place and interact with the brewing stand.
• Place one blaze powder in the fuel cell on the left.
• Now, add 1-3 awkward potions in the bottom cells in the middle. It’s best to not waste the main ingredient and fill all three cells with awkward potions.
• Add one more blaze powder in the upper cell in the middle.
• After the brewing is done, you’ll have a regular strength potion 1 that lasts for 3 minutes and increases your melee damage by 3 points.

2. Strength Potion 1 Extended

Effect Duration: 8 minutes

• Place and interact with the brewing stand.
• If the block is out of fuel, you’ll have to add another blaze powder in the cell on the left.
• Add 1-3 regular strength potions (3:00) in the bottom cells in the middle. Again, it’s best to put three-strength potions for maximum efficiency.
• Place redstone dust in the upper cell in the middle.
• After the brewing is done, you’ll have an extended potion of strength that lasts for 8 minutes and still increases the melee damage by 3.

3. Strength Potion 2

Effect Duration: 1 minute 30 seconds

• Place and interact with the brewing stand.
• Refill the blaze powder fuel cell if the fuel is used up.
• Add regular strength potions (3:00) in the bottom cells in the middle.
• Place glowstone dust in the upper cell in the middle.
• After the brewing is completed, you’ll have the enhanced strength potion that lasts for only 1 minute and 30 seconds but increases melee damage by 6 points.

Note: It isn’t possible to enhance an extended potion nor extend an enhanced potion. These actions work only with the basic strength potion.

4. Splash Strength Potion 1

Effect Duration: 3 minutes

• Place and interact with the brewing stand.
• Add regular strength potions (3:00) in the bottom cells in the middle.
• Place gunpowder in the upper cell in the middle.
• After the brewing is done, you’ll get splash potions of strength that last for 3 minutes and increase the melee damage by 3 points.
• You can extend (with redstone dust, to 8 minutes) or enhance (with glowstone dust, to melee damage increase of 6 points) this potion in the same way you do the regular strength potion.

5. Lingering Strength Potion 1

Effect Duration: 45 seconds

• Place and interact with the brewing stand.
• Put 1-3 splash potions of strength (3:00) in the bottom cells in the middle.
• Add the dragon’s breath item in the upper cell in the middle.
• After the process is done, you’ll have lingering potions of strength that last for 45 seconds and increase the melee damage by 3 points.
• Just like with the splash potion, you may also extend (to 2 minutes) or enhance (to melee damage increase of 6 points, but lasts for 12 seconds only) this potion type.

Why Is the Potion of Strength Useful?

The potion of strength in Minecraft is quite useful when you’re going on an adventure, such as to the trial chambers. It will increase your damage allowing you to beat enemies more quickly and ensure your survival. That’s why it’s one of the best potions to bring to trial chambers, in addition to the healing potion and speed potion.

Not only here, but this is quite a useful potion in a fight against the game’s bosses, including the Wither, Ender Dragon, and Warden. Furthermore, you may use the lingering potion of strength to make tipped arrows that apply the strength effect.
