How to Install and Uninstall RSAT in Windows 11

How to Install RSAT from Windows 11 Settings

There are two ways you can install Remote Server Administration Tools on Windows 11 – one using the Windows Settings app and the other using Windows PowerShell. You can directly enable various RSAT features from Windows settings. Here’s how:

  1. Launch Windows Settings from the Start menu.
  2. Select System in the side menu.
  3. Scroll all the way and click on Optional features.

  2. A bunch of RSAT tools such as Server Manager, Remote Desktop Services, and Volume Activation tools will appear.

  4. Finally, hit Add and Windows will start downloading the tool for you.

  3. Once launched, copy the following command and hit enter to see all the available RSAT tools and if they’re installed or not.

  1. To install one of the RSATs, copy its name and use the following command. Replace the ‘Rsat.DHCP.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0’ with the tool you want to download.

How to Uninstall RSAT in Windows 11

There are two ways to uninstall RSAT on Windows 11 — from Settings and Windows PowerShell.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Optional Features.
  2. Use the search box to search for the RSAT you installed.
  3. Click on the tool you wish to uninstall and select Remove to uninstall it.
