How to Install Mods in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been received poorly by a large part of the gaming community, mainly due to bad performance and uninformed microtransactions. Even though the game is highly enjoyable, the initial response from the player base has not been good. Fortunately, the modding community has come forward with many solutions for the Dragon’s Dogma 2 issues. If you want to install the mods but don’t know how, then here is a complete guide on how to install mods in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Download Mod Manager for Dragon’s Dogma 2

The first thing you need to do before installing any Dragon’s Dogma 2 mod is install a mod manager. A mod manager is not a must for installing most mods, but they are definitely important for maintaining multiple mods at the same time.

• First, head to Nexus Mods and download the Fluffy Mod Manager for free. After you download it, extract the files in a new folder. You can use 7zip or WinRar to extract the files and Windows 11 users should be able to do it without any 3rd party software.

• After you have extracted the files in a different folder, run the Modmanager.exe file and choose Dragon’s Dogma 2 from the games list.
• After the Modmanager opens, close it and open the folder with extracted Modmanager files.
• Next, open the Games folder and here you will see the Dragon’s Dogma 2 folder. Open it and then open the Mods folder.

Now that the Mod manager has been setup, it’s time to download some mods.

Install Mods in Dragon’s Dogma 2 With Mod Manager

Return to Nexus Mods and download the Dragon’s Dogma 2 mod you want to install. For example, we are using the Early N’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod for Dragon’s Dogma 2, which makes it free to get the Art of Metamorphosis in the game, which is used to change character appearance.

After downloading the mod, here is what you need to do:

• First, extract it and copy the mod files. Return to the mod folder inside the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mod Manager folder and paste the file.
• Now, rerun the Mod Manager and you should see the new mod appear on the screen.
• Enable the mod toggle and select the ‘Launch game’ option. This will run Dragon’s Dogma 2 with the mods you have enabled.

Install Mods in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Without Mod Manager

Some mods may not work with the Mod manager. When that happens, you will need to copy-paste the mod files directly into the Dragon’s Dogma 2 installation folder.

• To open the DD2 installation folder, open Steam and head to Library. Right-click on Dragon’s Dogma 2, select Manager, and choose Browse Local Files.
• This will open the installation folder. Copy and paste the mod files here and replace the old files if prompted and it should work.
