How to Forward Calls on Android Without Using Third Party Apps

Call forwarding is something that comes in very handy on a lot of occasions. If you are unaware, call forwarding is a feature that lets you divert calls coming to your number to any other number. For instance, you are on a vacation and you want to divert your work calls to your office or let’s say, you are unreachable but want to take calls on another number, you can use call forwarding to do that. So, it’s no surprise if you are wondering how you can forward calls on an Android smartphone. Well, we are here to tell you exactly that. Here are the ways to activate call forwarding on Android:

Forward Calls on Android Natively

1. Go to the Phone app on your device and in the app, hit the three-dot menu button and tap on Settings.

2. In the Phone settings, go to “Calls” and then, tap on “Call forwarding“.

3. Here, you will find options to activate call forwarding for all the calls or when your number is busy, unanswered or unreachable. You can just tap on one of the options and then enter the number you want to divert calls to.

4. Once entered, call forwarding will be enabled and you will see a persistent notification suggesting you that the call forwarding is active.

5. That’s it! After you are done, any calls on your number will be diverted depending on what options you chose. You can turn off call forwarding from the same settings. There’s also an option to update the number you want to forward calls to.

Note: Some Android smartphones might feature the call forwarding options in the OS Settings rather than the Phone app, so make sure to check that out.

Enable/Disable Call Forwarding through USSD Codes

All the network operators also support USSD codes that you can use to easily enable or disable call forwarding. Here are some codes you can use:

Call ForwardingEnableDisable or Check Status
All Calls*21*[phone number]###21#
When busy*67*[phone number]###67#
When not answered*61*[phone number]###61#
When unreachable*62*[phone number]###62#

If the aforementioned codes don’t work for you, you can just search for your operator’s specific code on the web. Also, there are third party apps on the Play Store that claim to bring the call forwarding features but most of them are outdated.
