You can never have enough money in GTA 5, especially since there are so many exotic supercars, extravagant planes, and lavish properties on offer. Completing the main story will net you a sizable sum, but there are very few ways to make heaps of cash in the endgame. One such way is Hidden Packages, which are literally briefcases of free money waiting to be collected. However, finding these packages can be a nightmare if you don’t know exactly where to look. So, we’ve put together a guide containing the locations of all hidden packages in GTA 5.
All GTA 5 Hidden Packages Locations
In total, GTA 5 has 12 hidden package locations scattered throughout Los Santos. These packages look like briefcases in appearance and contain varying amounts of cash. A majority of them can be found deep underwater, so be sure to bring along diving equipment such as a Scuba suit or a Minisub. Without further ado, here are all the hidden money locations in GTA 5:
1. Paleto Cove Briefcase
The first briefcase can be found on the ocean floor near the wreckage of an airplane. Swim around until you locate the detached tail of the aircraft, and the silver briefcase will be nearby. Collecting this package will earn you $12,000.
2. North Chumash Briefcase
The second package is also near an airplane wreck. This time, you’ll need to swim inside the plane’s detached cabin to get it. This briefcase carries $12,500.
3. Los Santos Docks Briefcase
This package can be found near the wreckage of a tanker ship. Dive into the ocean south of the Los Santos Docks and swim towards the seabed until you spot it. Collecting this briefcase will net you $11,000.
4. Zancudo Briefcase
The fourth hidden package sits right on top of a wrecked ship near Fort Zancudo. Grabbing it will earn $9,000, and you can also find some weapons and Submarine parts in this wreckage.
5. Pacific Bluffs Briefcase
This package can be found on top of a destroyed submarine that has sunk deep into the ocean near Pacific Bluffs. It carries $25,000.
6. Banning Briefcase
Despite being located underwater, you don’t need scuba gear to collect this package. Head into the ocean northeast of the Los Santos Docks, and you’ll find the briefcase on top of a sunken container. It has $7,500 in cash inside.
7. Murrieta Fields Briefcase
To get this briefcase, dive into the ocean east of Terminal and swim to the bottom until you find another plane wreckage. Look under the right tail wing of the plane to collect the briefcase. This one will reward you with $16,500.
8. Palomino Highlands Briefcase
The Palomino Highlands briefcase is tucked between the wreckage of a steamer ship. To get it, head into the ocean near El Burro Heights and swim towards the seabed until you spot a large circular wheel. Look near the wheel to grab the briefcase and collect $7,000.
9. Tataviam Mountains Briefcase
This briefcase sits within a destroyed ship near the N.O.O.S.E HQ. Grab it to earn $20,000. This is the second highest amount you can collect using this GTA 5 hidden package location.
10. Ron Winds Alternate Briefcase
Getting this briefcase can be a bit of a hassle since you’ll need to swim really deep into the ocean. It sits inside the container of a crashed military truck. You’ll also find sunken Rhino tanks nearby. The briefcase carries $10,000.
11. Paleto Bay Briefcase
The final underwater GTA 5 hidden money package is on the ocean floor of eastern Paleto Bay. It sits near a rusted crop duster, but be warned that the area is infested with sharks before diving in. Collect the briefcase to get $8,000.
12. Alturist Camp Hidden Briefcases (Bonus)
These GTA 5 secret hidden money locations are linked to the Alturist Camp delivery missions that can be completed using Trevor. The side mission is triggered after Trevor receives a text from Ron informing him about a cult looking for ‘lost souls’ in exchange for cash. So, you’ll need to deliver four victims to the cult before a special event occurs and the doors to their compound open up.
Once inside, you’ll need to massacre all the cultists to escape. But before you walk out the gate, check every wooden cabin within the camp and collect a total of four briefcases. Each briefcase has $25,000, meaning you could walk out with a haul of $100,000.
