Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Full Early Patch Notes

Override Battle Pass

With Override starting soon, Epic Games has given us a glimpse of the characters that will be part of the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass.

The theme for the Battle Pass is Gaming Legends, but the only characters we know by name are Geno and Sonic. Although Crash would have been a great skin to have as part of the Fortnite Crash Bandicoot collab, he won’t be listed on the pass. That said, here is the list of skins:

  • Warrior with sword and shield
  • Soldier Skin
  • Kart Racer Girl
  • Original Fighter Skin
  • New Original Chapter 7 Season 4 Skin
  • Tetris Skin
  • Sonic
  • Geno

While we have yet to get official names, we know the aforementioned characters will be coming based on Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 early patch notes. We also have a new Fortnite sidekick coming to the Override Pass.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Map Changes: Override Island

The Fortnite Unstable Story Moment Live Event didn’t reshape the island to a large extent, but based on early patch notes for Chapter 7 Season 4, we have learned about some of the new locations. A few POIs will be removed, while others will remain.

Here are all the map changes you will see in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4:

POIs Being Removed:

  • Calamari Canyon
  • Frosted Flats
  • Sinister Strip

POIs Being Added:

  • Geno’s HQ
  • Sonic Green Hills Zone
  • Temple
  • Spire
  • Pac-Man Island

Existing POIs:

  • Lifty Lodge
  • Battlewoods
  • Latte Landing
  • Wonkeeland
  • Golden Grove
  • Shaken Sanctuary
  • Cluster Coast
  • Sunken Shores
  • Heatwave Harbor
  • Chopped Shop
  • Battlewoods

Based on what we see in the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override trailer, all of the new POIs will surround the giant spire. It has replaced the Zero Point and will be at the center of things to come. It’s central to the lore and perhaps even the next phase of the storyline.

As per the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 patch notes, no biomes are being removed. On the contrary, a new biome has spawned in the center of the map where the spire is located. It features trees with a rather peculiar pink color.

New Sprites and Sprite Garden in Fortnite Chapter Season 4

With Sprites staying in Fortnite, the game is introducing a bunch of these new creatures with the next update.

Based on Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 trailers and early patch notes, we have learned that eight new Sprites will be part of the lineup. Here’s the complete list:

  • Bushranger
  • Sonic
  • Tails
  • Jazz Jackrabbit
  • Klombo
  • Killswitch
  • Crown
  • Unknown Sprite

From the trailer, we know that the Tails Sprite will allow players to glide in the air. Sonic Sprite could give players a speed boost. However, for the rest, it largely remains unknown. Plus, we are unsure of when the Fortnite Design a Sprite winners will be added to the game, probably mid-season.

Fortnite Extraction Gizmos should remain, as they have become an integral part of gameplay. The same should hold for Sprite Chests. That said, remember to visit Fortnite Sprite Garden after you log in to meet your older sprites and new sprites you collect.

All New Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4

Alongside Fortnite Sprites, a new season is incomplete without new weapons. As per the Chapter 7 Season 4 early patch notes, Epic Games will introduce new gear to the Fortnite loot pool. All of them are based on the Gaming Legends theme. Here is the list of weapons to expect:

  • 8-bit Shotgun
  • HJSH-18 Masamune Assault Rifle
  • TKI-20 Shingen

The 8-bit Shotgun will be a close-range weapon. It could have interchangeable cartridges, granting the user variable buffs. The HJSH-18 Masamune Assault Rifle and TKI-20 Shingen SMG will likely be part of the new Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners collab. Players will be able to dual-wield these, as seen in the trailer.

All New Items in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4

We know of at least three new Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 collab items that will be available from August 20. One will be part of the Sonic collaboration, while the other two will be related to Tetris and Mega Man. Here is the list:

  • Sonic Spin Dash Mythic
  • Tetriminos Junk Rift
  • Mega Man Mythic

We’ve seen all of these items in action, but Epic Games is focusing on heavily promoting the Fortnite Sonic collab Spin Dash. This makes sense, as it will let players run swiftly, even up vertical surfaces with ease.

As for the Tetriminos Junk Rift, it will work similarly to the Junk Rift and summon Tetris blocks. Sunken Shore POI is already littered with Tetris blocks. This could be an indication that the chances of getting this item here are slightly higher, or perhaps it’s just an aesthetic design choice.

Lastly, we have the Mega Man Mythic, which seems to be a hand cannon of sorts. However, it should also have the ability to charge up to deal a special attack. We are unsure if it will consume ammo or have a cooldown.

All New Mechanics in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4

One of the most interesting things we know, based on Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 leaks and patch notes, is a new mechanic related to cartridges. In each match, players will be able to find a cartridge and insert it into a system to gain a cool buff.

What’s neat about this mechanic is that it affects everyone on the island. The cartridge can be replaced once during the match, which again will buff all players. Depending on the buff and your playstyle, you may benefit from it greatly, especially if you are using a powerful Sprite.

That’s about everything we know about the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 so far. What are you most excited about in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4? Tell us in the comments section below.
