Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Early Patch Notes: Sprites Return, Runners Battle Pass, and More

The rivalry is coming to an end, and Epic Games is gearing up for the release of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners. While Epic was keeping things close to the chest, the developers have now revealed a new trailer for Runners, and it tells us a lot of what we can expect from the next phase of the game. This not only includes new weapons and items, but also possible spoilers for the upcoming Shattered live event.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Update 41.00 Downtime Details

The Fortnite 41.00 update will go live after an extended scheduled downtime on June 5, 2026, at 7:30 PM ET. Fortnite servers are expected to go into downtime immediately after the Shattered live event.

The event will take place at 7 PM ET and will likely last around 15-20 minutes. However, downtime is expected to be longer than usual, with servers going live on June 6, 2026, at 4 AM ET.

Runners Battle Pass

After the Ice King and the Foundation’s conflict ends, Epic Games will be introducing the new Runners Battle Pass in Chapter 7 Season 3. We already have a look at all of the Battle Pass skins, which include:

• John Wick Pen & Ink Skin
• C3RB3RUS Skin
• Ninja Hope Skin
• Remixed Doctor Slone Skin
• Remixed PJ Skin
• Remixed Quackling Skin
• Mysterious Femme Fatale Skin
• Mecha-Sprite Skin

The Battle Pass confirms the return of beloved storyline characters like Doctor Slone, who will likely make her presence known after the Shattered live event has concluded. Other fan favourite skins like PJ and Cerberus are also receiving brand new looks, making for an extremely unique vibe for a Battle Pass.

Apart from the skins, Epic will also be introducing new Fortnite Sidekicks as part of the Runners Pass. This includes a Pitbull Pen & Ink Sidekick for John Wick, a Burnt Peanut Sprite Sidekick, and a variety of other Sprites.

Sprites Return

The new gameplay reveal for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 has re-confirmed that Sprites are back in a big way on the Chapter 7 island. First introduced in Chapter 6 Season 1, these adorable little elemental creatures provide characters with different abilities and buffs. So far, the Sprites revealed include:

• Water Sprite
• Fire Sprite
• Zero Point Sprite
• Skully Sprite
• Duck Sprite
• Earth Sprite

With so many new Sprites available during a match, Chapter 7 Season 3 could have one of the most unique weapon and item metas in recent memory.

New Weapon – Chaos Reloader Assault Rifle

After the absolute dominance of the Chaos Reloader Shotgun in Chapter 7 Season 2, Epic will be adding what looks like a Chaos Reloader Assault Rifle to the Fortnite loot pool. The weapon can be seen in action in the gameplay reveal trailer and is likely to feature a similar mechanic to its shotgun counterpart. In the gameplay trailer, the weapon can be seen being paired with a Fire Sprite and resulting in an explosion, something that could definitely change the meta significantly.

New Weapon – Triple Barrel Shotgun

We all remember the days when the Double Barreled shotgun first came out in Chapter 1, and the absolute punch it packed at the cost of a slower reload. Now, Epic is taking it up a notch with a Triple Barrel Shotgun, and it might dominate close-quarters combat in the future. It is likely to boast a wide spread and deal big bursts of damage with its three shots. However, players will have to make those three shots count, as it will also feature an extended reload animation that will leave you vulnerable.

New Item – The Seven Power Boots

Traversal is about to get a huge upgrade in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, with Epic adding new The Seven Power Boots to the loot pool. From the gameplay reveal trailer, it looks like the boots will allow players to power slide and sprint faster than usual for a limited period of time. Additionally, the presence of these items in the upcoming season hints that The Foundation might emerge victorious in the Fortnite Shattered live event.

New Mechanic – The Seven Caches

The evidence of The Foundation emerging victorious leading into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is further solidified by the presence of The Seven Caches in the gameplay trailer. These containers are seemingly being rifted into the sky and dropped on the map for reinforcements. The Seven Power Caches will most likely hold rare and powerful loot, along with being a reliable source to get The Seven Power Boots. This mechanic will likely be a new Rift Anomaly, with similar loot to the Stabilize the Rift Anomaly.

Map Changes – Tropical POI replacing Dark Dominion

Whatever goes down in the Shattered live event is about to bring massive changes to the Dark Dominion POI in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. The gameplay trailer also reveals the Zero Point, exposed out in the open while being surrounded by a tropical POI, which will be replacing Dark Dominion. The Zero Point being out in the open is likely to make the location a permanent anomaly and also a great choice for rotations.

Map Changes – Duck Mansion POI

On the lighter side of map changes in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, Epic Games will also be adding a new Duck Mansion POI to the map. The POI seems to be themed around the Remixed Quackling skin in the Runners Battle Pass, and could likely feature a new Quackling NPC with a Mythic variant of one of the new weapons.

Power Up Mechanics with Sprites

While the gameplay reveal trailer was slightly vague about certain mechanics in Chapter 7 Season 3, it looks like Powering Up will be a big part of the upcoming season. The trailer reveals characters collecting glowing blue orbs and essentially powering themselves up, something that could be a core gameplay mechanic of the new Fortnite season.

This is likely just a fraction of everything Epic has planned for Chapter 7 Season 3. As the days count down, players will be keeping a keen eye on everything new coming to the game.
