When is Fortnite Community Day? What to Expect, Gameplay, and More

As Chapter 7 Season 2 nears its end, Epic Games is shaking things up with the introduction of Fortnite Community Day. Following the recent 40.40 update that brought the Overwatch collab, this dedicated event is designed to put the spotlight directly on the player base. Here’s everything you need to know about participating in this unique Chapter 7 Season 2 event.

When is Fortnite Community Day?

Fortnite Community Day is officially scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026. While Epic Games usually deploys updates like the Fortnite 2026 roadmap patches early in the morning, the community day event is expected to last a whole day. This will allow players to fully take advantage of all of the gameplay changes and free rewards.

Fortnite Community Day Gameplay Changes

According to Fortnite dev Ted Timmins, the gameplay changes for the Community Day will be decided not by the developers but by the players. The community got to vote on multiple gameplay changes that they want to see on Community Day. The choices included:

• Infinite Infinity Blade Leaps + Infinite Fuel Vehicles
• Super Overdrive Grenades + Mythic Goldfish in regular Chests
• Finger Guns + Bigger Slapperoni Pizza Slice stack size
• Super Hammer Revolver + Fishing gives Mythics

Since the community vote has ended, players have voted for “Finger Guns + Bigger Pizza Slice stack size”. This means players will see the return of the beloved Finger Guns in Chapter 7 Season 2, which were first introduced for April Fools’ with the Fortnite Big Head Update. Apart from this change, Ted Timmins also hinted at other changes coming on Fortnite Community Day as well. However, it is currently unknown what these changes will entail.

Fortnite Community Day Rewards

No major Fortnite event is complete without loot. Ted Timmins has also confirmed that the Community Day event will have exclusive rewards attached to it. These rewards could range from a chance to acquire free Fortnite skins or even an XP boost that helps players complete the Showdown Battle Pass more quickly. However, this is purely speculation as of now, since Timmins has not explicitly revealed what will be featured as rewards on Community Day.
