- Multiple leakers have detailed information about Fortnite Chapter 6, the upcoming season after Chapter 2 Remix.
- The leaks dictate that the game will have a Japanese-themed map and game-changing features like prone mechanics and swinging movements.
- Furthermore, Fortnite OG might be making a permanent comeback.
Ahead of its December launch, multiple reliable leakers have already unveiled details about Fortnite Chapter 6, suggesting the new battle royale’s mechanics and setting. According to prominent leakers, the new chapter will feature a traditional Japanese theme, complete with shrines, wetlands, and a new movement system.
Major Gameplay Changes Coming
The new chapter kicks off on December 1 after Chapter 2 Remix ends, and it’s bringing some cool new features. Players will be able to go prone and use a new swinging mechanic to get around the map, which should make fights and travel more interesting.
A Japanese theme will show up all over the new map. Players can expect to find traditional shrines, rivers, and open plains to explore. There’s also talk of a new industrial town POI coming to the map, though we don’t know much about it yet.
The game is getting some other big updates too. The Battle Stars system that players use to unlock battle pass rewards is going away, replaced by something more straightforward. The medallions from Chapter 5 are coming back too, but with some changes we haven’t heard about yet.
Fortnite OG Makes a Comeback
One of the biggest leaks is that Fortnite OG might be coming back for good. According to the leaks, this separate mode will bring back all Chapter 1 seasons, switching between them each month from December 2024 to September 2025. Players can enjoy the old-school loot in both regular and Zero Build modes.
The game is adding some fun extras too. Players will have cat companions called Sprites that follow them around the map, and there’s something new called a “void” feature coming, though nobody knows what it does yet.
The December 1 update coincides with Fortnite’s winter season, with the Winterfest 2024 update scheduled for December 10. Players can expect the return of the Quad Launcher to the loot pool, alongside other yet-to-be-revealed weapons and items.
Epic Games hasn’t officially announced any of this yet, but we might see a reveal during the Chapter 2 Remix Finale on November 30 or at the upcoming Game Awards on December 12.
There are also some changes coming to how passes work in the game. Starting December 1, Music and LEGO Passes will combine free and premium rewards into one track. Players will be able to claim rewards in any order and even turn on auto-claim to get them automatically.
While we should wait for Epic to confirm everything, these leaks seem pretty solid given who they’re coming from. It looks like Chapter 6 is going to be one of the biggest Fortnite updates we’ve seen in a while.
