No, Eugene is not dead in Wednesday, even after getting brutally injured by Hyde. Eugene and Wednesday decided to hunt the monster when the entire school would be busy at the Rave’n event. However, Thing tricks Tyler and makes him believe that Wednesday wants to go to the dance night with him. So, when he shows up at Wednesday’s room, she can’t resist, and the duo head to the event together. When Eugene approaches Wednesday, she promises him that they will go to the cave the following day.

However, instead of waiting, Eugent decided to go to the cave alone as he remembered the hive code. He reached the cave that he and Wednesday believed to be the monster’s hideout. While waiting, he encountered a mysterious entity setting the cave on fire. Eugene can’t see them, but they did and shone their torch on him. After that, when Eugene started running, his glasses fell on the ground, and that’s when he got attacked by Hyde.

Wednesday reached the location and got him hospitalized. The boy went into a coma, but returned to consciousness eventually. In fact, he was the one who helped Wednesday discover that Marilyn Thornhill is behind all the killings at the Nevermore Academy. That was not it. When the villain was about to shoot Wednesday, Eugene used his bee-controlling power to help his friend get the upper hand in the duel.
