Daredevil Born Again: Will Spider-Man Appear In Season 2?

If you are even a little bit into Marvel Comics, you would know that Daredevil and Spider-Man have shared panels for the longest time. This duo is one of Marvel’s favourites and has also been seen in animated shows. However, fans are longing to see the duo come together in live action, and with the way things are going, there is a massive possibility that Daredevil and Spider-Man could be seen working together in Daredevil Born Again Season 2.

Now, of course, just the thought of this event happening is exciting, but is it actually possible? Well, here, we will talk about whether Spider-Man could appear in Daredevil Born Again Season 2 or not, taking into account official comments and everything we know so far.

Daredevil Born Again Season 2 Will Be Connected to Spider-Man: Brand New Day

At this point, it’s common knowledge that we are headed towards a Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will include all our beloved street-level heroes. Matt Murdock has already made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now, The Punisher/Frank Castle is all set to show up in the upcoming Brand New Day.

However, a revelation came to us from Entertainment Weekly, telling us about something that makes the apperance of Spider-Man in Daredevil Born Again Season 2 a bit more possible. This is further enforced by the apperance of The Hand as one of the active villains on Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s trailer. This could point towards a previous altercation between Spidey and the ninjas in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

EW got hold of Brad Winderbaum, who told the media house that Daredevil Born Again Season 2 will be connected to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In the interview, he revealed how the team was continuously in contact with the team working on Brand New Day so that there were no discrepancies in the story. In his comment, Brad Said-

“We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there’s coherence there, We don’t want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important. We’re in a shared universe together, but I would say just the Daredevil comic books, the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man‘s, but they both exist in the same universe,It’s similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we’re able to tell different stories.”

Moreover, we are also aware of the fact that the events in The Punisher Special Presentation will take place before the movie. Considering that Frank is set to appear in Brand New Day, there is a very good chance that we will get to witness some connections from that angle as well in the upcoming flick.

Can Spider-Man Appear in Daredevil Born Again Season 2?

Looking at all these details, there is a chance for Spidey to appear in Season 2, but there is one variable which makes the probability of our beloved hero’s apperance in Daredevil Born Again Season 2 rather bleak. As we all know, Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man and the characters associated with it. According to their contract, live-action Spider-Man is allowed only to appear in Marvel’s full-length movies, and Sony holds the television rights to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

So, keeping that factor in mind, the only way Spidey can appear in Born Again Season 2 is if Sony makes an exception in this case, and the chances of it happening are rather low. While the story of the upcoming season fully supports the presence of Spider-Man, this restriction could turn out to be a disappointment for the hopes and dreams of the fandom.
