However, 2025 has been kind with the much-awaited Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc releasing worldwide, and we finally received exciting details about the next season, Chainsaw Man: Assassination Arc, at the Jump Festa 2026 event recently. While the road to Chainsaw Man season 2 is much longer than usual, here is everything we know about the Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc, including its potential release date, cast and characters, story, etc.
Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc Release Window
The wait for the announcement of Chainsaw Man Season 2 was excruciating, but it was worth it in the end. At the Jump Festa 2026 event, the MAPPA production staff announced that the Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc has currently entered production. However, the staff didn’t comment about the potential release window of Chainsaw Man 2 at the event.
But based on MAPPA’s release schedule so far, we can expect Chainsaw Man: Season 2, aka Assassins Arc, to possibly arrive in late 2027. It should be noted that both the debut season of CSM and the Reze movies were released two years after their initial announcement.

After the premiere of CSM: Reze arc movie, everyone anticipated a second season of the Chainsaw Man anime. However, the new Chainsaw Man Assassins arc announcement has everyone confused whether it will be adapted as an anime movie or a season 2. It is mainly because MAPPA didn’t mention the Assassins arc as CSM season 2 during the announcement yesterday.
To make matters even more confusing, Oricon also accidentally claimed the Assassins Arc to be a theatrical movie release at first, but swiftly edited their post later on. Therefore, Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc is currently expected to be Part 1 of Chainsaw Man Season 2 at the moment.
It seems as if MAPPA Studio is withholding the information regarding Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc, as they haven’t decided on the approach to the fan-favorite International Assassins arc. What Is the Plot of Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc?
The Bomb Girl arc adaptation was completed in the CSM: Reze arc movie. Now, as the title suggests, Chainsaw Man will adapt the next arc titled, International Assassins arc. Denji, who is unaware of Reze’s fate, can’t catch a break as all the powerful assassins around the world arrive in Japan to hunt Denji’s heart. The official synopsis of the International Assassins arc, according to Viz Media, is as follows:
Denji’s gotten too famous! After a news program broadcasts Chainsaw Man’s heroics, the whole world now wants in on the action! Can Denji’s new protection detail keep him safe from all the talented assassins that have assembled in Japan to take him down?!
Chainsaw Man Season will cover volumes 7 and 8 first, as the International Assassins arc starts from chapter 53 and ends in the 70th chapter. So, gear up for an incredible action-packed arc, as there will be no time to catch our breath once Assassins Arc begins in the Chainsaw Man anime.
