1. God of War (2018)

  • Release Date: April 20, 2018
  • Available on: PlayStation Plus Extra and above.

I begin my list of the best PlayStation Plus games with a title close to my heart. God of War 2018 follows the infamous God Kratos. Taking place years after the old saga, Kratos is now a much older man who lives in the Nordic lands with his boy Atreus.

God of War’s story follows a father and son who undergo hardships to perform the last rites for their wife/mother. The game has the best combination of storytelling, cinematics, and gameplay, and you will fall in love with it. This is, by far, the best game on PlayStation Plus right now.

2. Until Dawn

  • Release: August 25, 2015
  • Available on: PlayStation Plus Extra

A choose-your-own-adventure horror game, Until Dawn lets you decide the fate of eight individuals trapped on a mountain lodge during winter. With a serial killer on the loose, you make choices; depending on them, the characters can live or die.

It has a solid storyline, takes inspiration from teen slasher movies, and is undoubtedly a game you should play on PlayStation Plus.

3. Bloodborne

  • Release Date: March 24, 2015
  • Available on: PlayStation Plus Extra

One of the games that compelled me to purchase a PS4, Bloodborne, which also happens to be available on PlayStation Plus, is an action-adventure Soulslike. In it, we become hunters on a journey to take out monsters.

It is set in a fictional Victorian village named Yahrnam and is tough as nails. But once you overcome the difficulty, it is possibly one of the most well-written Lovecraftian-inspired stories ever. It is too bad the game still runs at 30 FPS with slight performance issues, even on a PS5. However, if you can look past that, you’ll have one of the best PlayStation Plus games ever.

4. Resident Evil 2 Remake

  • Release Date: January 25, 2019
  • Available on: PlayStation Plus Extra

Resident Evil 2 is possibly one of the greatest survival horror games ever. After a lengthy process, it received a remake, which recreates and changes the gameplay in a big way. Thankfully, Resident Evil 2 Remake also gets a lot of appreciation for doing everything the original game did in a modernized sense.

The game follows two protagonists through a zombie outbreak in Racoon City – Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie cop coming to RPD on his first day, and Claire Redfield, out to search for her brother Chris Redfield. I won’t speak more about the game to not spoil you but I consider it to be one of the best games on PlayStation Plus.
