Ana de Armas is ready to shine in the upcoming John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina. Ana will pick up arms and deliver some over-the-top action sequences. So far, there’s a lot of hype around the movie, and it seems like Ana is ready to step into the John Wick universe with a bang. Ana de Armas is a rare talent who will definitely shine as a Ballerina, but the actress is known for a variety of roles. Well, here are some of the best Ana de Armas movies that should be on your watchlist in 2025.
10. Knock Knock

- Genre: Thriller
- Release Date: October 9, 2015
- Director: Eli Roth
- Cast: Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas, Aaron Burns, Ignacia Allamand, Colleen Camp
- Running Time: 99 minutes
- IMDb: 4.9/10
- Rotten Tomatoes: 37%
Knock Knock didn’t receive impressive ratings, but I added the film to the list because it features Ana de Armas’s best performance. Besides that, her upcoming film Ballerina, which comes from the world of John Wick, will see a cameo appearance by Keanu Reeves, and Knock Knock features Reeves in the titular role.
The film is a remake of 1977’s Death Game, which sees Ana de Armas as the sadistic young woman who terrorizes the world of the man who lets her and her friend walk into his house, believing them to be some helpless women who are looking for a shelter to prevent getting drenched in the rain.
9. Blonde
- Genre: Psychological Drama
- Release Date: September 16, 2022
- Director: Andrew Dominik
- Cast: Ana de Armas, Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Julianne Nicholson
- Running Time: 166 minutes
- IMDb: 5.4/10
- Rotten Tomatoes: 42%
Based on the fictional novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde was released on Netflix in 2022. Although it received massive praise during its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Blonde faced backlash from the audience and critics upon its release on Netflix. The film was basically based on a fictional novel, which was marketed as a biopic, so the global audience got frustrated after discovering that the film they were excited about was misleading. However, despite all the rage and the misleading marketing, fans didn’t shy away from praising the lead lady, Ana De Armas, for her outstanding performance.
The story follows Norma Jeane Mortenson, aka. Marilyn Monroe, who, after seeing a traumatic childhood, struggles with mental torture during her days in Hollywood.
8. Ghosted
- Genre: Action, Romance and Comedy
- Release Date: April 21, 2023
- Director: Dexter Fletcher
- Cast: Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, Tate Donovan, Tim, Blake Nelson, Marwan Kenzari, Anna Deavere Smith
- Running Time: 116 minutes
- IMDb: 5.8/10
- Rotten Tomatoes: 25%
When the first trailer of Ghosted was released, fans were overwhelmed to see Chris Evans and Ana de Armas as the lead couple. They weren’t wrong because the chemistry between the two actors was on point. Regardless, the trailer eventually garnered 13 million viewers globally, but unfortunately, the film failed to impress the audience upon its official release.
However, despite being a film that fans considered a weak entry in the leading duo’s portfolio, it became the most-watched Apple TV film on its debut. You could say that despite the weak story, millions of fans tuned in to experience the charming personality of Chris and, of course, Ana.
The film revolves around a CIA Agent, Sadie Rhodes, who decides not to get back to the anxiety-riddled farmer, Cole Turner, after spending a romantic night with him. Encouraged by his family, Cole travels all the way to London to find Sadie. However, he gets kidnapped by arms dealers, who believe him to be a CIA agent named ‘The Taxman.’ Sadie protects him, reveals her true identity to Cole, and makes him a part of her next mission.

Sergio wasn’t a hit, but it wasn’t a flop either; Wagner Moura was a show stealer, and it was his portrayal of Sergio that drew the attention of the cinephiles. Besides him, Ana de Armas received heavy praise for her magnificent portrayal of Carolina Larriera, the strong and supportive girlfriend of Sergio.
Sergio Vieira de Mell was a devoted diplomat who wanted to serve Iraqis and help them achieve independence. However, in Baghdad, he gets stuck in the collapsed portion of the UN headquarters. The film, thus, showcases his personal struggles and his romantic relationship with Carolina.

They say, Don’t judge a book by its cover, and The Gray Man proves that. The film received a 45% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, but the audience rating on the platform tells a different story, with an overall score of 90%. It was the most expensive film on Netflix at the time it was released, but even though fans saw it as a full entertainer, they also called it a one-time watch. That’s because of the clichéd story and the underutilized star cast. However, Ana de Armas’ action-hero capabilities shone in the film. Her character received mixed reviews, but mostly positive ones.

The Informer is one of the best thriller movies that was released back in 2019. Based on the Three Seconds novel, the Informer follows the story of Peter Koslow, a convict who is given a second chance at life if he decides to go undercover for the FBI. The movie features some of the best bone-chilling sequences as Peter goes deep into the underworld.
Ana De Armas plays Sofia Koslow in the movie, the lovely wife of Peter Koslow. Sofia is a complex character in the movie who can go to any lengths to protect her family. She plays a risky game to get her man out of prison alive, and well, Ana De Armas does an incredible job portraying such a complex and vulnerable character on screen.

However, despite being given a thin role in the movie, Ana de Armas made it work out with her performance. Overall, the film is a hilarious and entertaining ride that is complemented by some brilliant performances from the cast.
War Dogs follows two arms dealers named Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz, who get an assignment to supply ammunition to the Afghan military. However, when Henry Girard joins them, they undergo a downfall. The film is a perfect mixture of drama, crime, and humor.

No Time to Die hails from the James Bond universe, and that’s why it features a compelling trail of action that the fans shouldn’t sleep on. In this film, Ana de Armas appears for 10 minutes, but she makes every critic fall for her electrifying performance. Besides that, No Time to Die is a full stunner, featuring a perfect storyline that blends emotional elements and action in a way that makes up for the weak elements of the story, especially the thinly written villain.
Even after retiring from MI6, Daniel Craig’s James Bond is rehired by the organization to fight an adversary whom only he is capable of defeating. He must lock horns with him to foil his desire to kill millions of people using technology.
