Gamers eagerly awaiting the release of a yearly Assassin’s Creed game were looking forward to Shadows and all that it brought. Finally, an AC game set in Japan with two different characters is definitely among the highlights of 2025. However, it now seems some folks can’t wait until March 20 for the game’s release date. As it turns out, a copy of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has leaked ahead of its release date, and some people even have access to the gameplay.
Through a statement now confirmed by Ubisoft, it turns out a gamer obtained a copy of Assassin’s Creed Shadows through an online marketplace. Soon after, pictures and videos of gameplay began to circulate online. Furthermore, some Twitch streamers even began streaming the game before clips of it were taken down.

Ubisoft’s statement clearly acknowledged the issue and mentioned that the development team is working on patches to prepare for the launch experience. The company also condemned the leaks and requested gamers not to spoil the experience for anyone and to ‘stay in the shadows.’
With copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows even appearing online at auction sites and selling for $100 each, it’s clear that people are eagerly awaiting to get their hands on it. However, we do suggest you want for the official March 20 release date.
