In Short
  • The Arc Raiders Beachcombing map condition was added with the Riven Tides update.
  • Players need to use the Dockmaster's Detector device to interact with the map condition.
  • You can find this device through the Avian Alarm project, Apollo's new quest, or through world loot.

Embark Studios has officially introduced the new Riven Tides map with the latest Arc Raiders update. The update also comes packaged with the Arc Raiders Beachcombing map condition, which grants players access to powerful loot by using a specific device. We have compiled everything you need to know about the new Beachcombing map condition below.

What is Beachcoming Map Condition in Arc Raiders?

Beachcombing is a minor map condition added with the new Arc Raiders update, and it is exclusive to the Riven Tides map. When this condition is active, the abandoned shorelines and coastal dunes of the map become active with buried treasure. Unlike major map conditions such as Night Raid or Electromagnetic Storm, which typically increase enemy aggression or limit visibility, Beachcombing is a loot-centric event.

To successfully engage with this condition, Raiders must equip a specific piece of gear called the Dockmaster’s Detector. This gadget is essential because the high-value loot associated with Beachcombing remains invisible to the naked eye while buried beneath the sand. Once equipped, the device provides distinct audio and visual guides to lead you towards buried loot.

How to Get Dockmaster’s Detector in Arc Raiders

You can go get the Dockmaster’s Detector by engaging with the new Avian Alarm player project. However, that is not the only way to acquire it. Here are all the ways you can get the Dockmaster’s Detector device:

  • Accept Shoring Up Defenses Quest: Apollo’s new quest tasks you with boarding up defenses for the Panorama Azzurro hotel by taking down multiple ARC enemies and reinforcing structures. Completing this quest grants you a Dockmaster’s Detector in your inventory.
  • Avian Alarm Project: Completing Stage 1 of this new Raider Project also grants you access to the Dockmaster’s Device in your inventory.
  • World loot: While infrequent, you can also find the Dockmaster’s Device in containers like Toolboxes and Industrial Crates around the map.

Tips for Arc Raiders Beachcombing Map Condition

While Beachcombing is a less dangerous event than other major map conditions like the Hurricane, it presents its own set of tactical risks. For starters, the Riven Tides update also introduced the ARC Turbine, a floating machine that patrols the open skies. Since the best Beachcombing spots are out in the open sand with little to no cover, you are highly vulnerable to these patrols. Make sure to scan the horizon before you commit to a dig.

Beachcombing forces the Raiders out of the dense verticality of the Panorama Azzurro hotel and into the flat, open coast. This is a dream for any Raiders that possess ARC Raiders Blueprints like the Osprey or the Jupiter.

If you are too focused on your detector, your focus shifts from the ridgeline. While there isn’t much you can do to counter this, you can use the new White Flag deployable if you are trying to signal non-aggression to other Raiders.

Also, remember to keep an eye out for rare Ship Models like the Wind Sprite or Leviathan’s Crown during the Beachcombing event. These are essential for the Last Resort event and offer high XP rewards upon successful extraction.
