Phase 5 (Load Stage)
Unlike ever before, Embark devs have changed the requirement to earn skill points. Starting with Expedition 3 in Arc Raiders, raiders need to deal a certain amount of damage to earn permanent skill points post-expedition. Meanwhile, the overall coins/stash value is now used as an estimate to grant catch-up skill points.
- Deal Damage with any weapon or gadget against any human or ARC enemy
- Players who will now be departing on their second or third Expedition (not relevant for players on their first Expedition) who missed some skill points from previous Expeditions will be able to catch up.
- Players have to complete the damage challenge first to unlock the coin/stash value catch-up mechanic. Catch-up is 300.000 coins/stash value per skill point.
Phase 6 (Departure)
Your raider is now ready to depart on the new Expedition. The majority of collected loot will disappear from your inventory, while a few may remain. We have discussed all the items you keep and lose after completing Arc Raiders Expedition 3 below.
Arc Raiders Expedition 3 Damage Requirements
Instead of gathering stash value and coins, players will now have to deal damage to get all 5 skill points (regardless of whether it’s their first, second, or third expedition). All players who have completed their Caravan will get the challenge. You can complete the challenge by dealing damage with any weapon or gadget against any target (except the practice range).
With that said, here are the exact damage numbers you need to inflict on an enemy to earn a skill point in Arc Raiders Expedition 3:
- 1 Skill Point: 5,000 damage
- 2 Skill Point: 10,000 damage
- 3 Skill Point: 30,000 damage
- 4 Skill Point: 50,000 damage
- 5 Skill Point: 100,000 damage
Killing a Bastion in Arc Raiders results in exactly 5000 damage. So, players need to take down 20 Bastions to unlock all five skill points. Devs have confirmed they tested the damage numbers and firmly believe they are achievable. Additionally, they have claimed that you can earn up to 8,000 – 10,000 damage in a single raid if you play your cards right.

To spice things up, the devs have changed the challenge you needed to complete before departure in Expedition 3. While this is a great change, all raiders wish they had been informed beforehand, as everyone has been grinding to improve their stash value all this time.
Now that the devs have revealed the final damage numbers, what do you think about the new requirements in Expedition 3 in Arc Raiders? Let us know in the comments below.

Yes, starting Expedition 3, instead of stash value, dealing damage to enemies will be taken into account in the evaluation before awarding skill points.
