The India launch of the budget-centric Moto E5 Plus has been confirmed for July 10. As expected, the phone will be exclusive to Amazon, just like the Moto G6.
Motorola had already been teasing the launch of the device in India on Twitter but it’s just today that we’ve received an official word on the launch date.
About two months after the unveiling of the Moto E5 series (alongside the Moto G6 series) in Brazil, the company has finally chosen to bring its budget device to the country. Amazon has created a dedicated teaser page for the Moto E5 Plus, with all major specs details and the Get Notified link
Key Specifications
The Moto E5 Plus is the most well-equipped variant among all Moto E5 models that were unveiled in Brazil. This device has distinctive features such as a sleek design and a wave pattern on the rear, but the display still remains the same.
This device sports a taller 6 inch HD+ (1440 x 720p) IPS Max Vision display as compared to its predecessor. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and Adreno 308, coupled with two RAM+storage configurations – 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB.
The highlight of the Moto E5 Plus will have to be the massive 5,000mAh battery unit that the company has also been emphasizing in each of its teasers.
In the optics department, the device may appear to have a dual rear-camera setup, but it only has a single 12MP rear camera. The second cut-out in the camera module holds the laser auto-focus that’ll help you focus faster and capture better photos. There’s also an 8MP selfie shooter.
There’s a fingerprint scanner is located on the back with the Motorola logo inscribed on it, along with Android 8.0 Oreo running out-of-the-box.
Price And Availability
The Moto E5 Plus is priced at €169 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage, so we can expect the device to be priced at around Rs 13,500 in India. It will be in the same ballpark as the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Zenfone Max Pro M1, so we will have to wait and see whether netizens prefer brand and battery life over more features or not.
