Alice in Borderland Season 3 is finally out on Netflix, and as expected, the latest season featured several amazing games for the players. While no game was easy per se, when it comes to difficulty or the odds of survival, it would be unfair to say that all games were equally challenging. So, if you’re wondering which Alice in Borderland Season 3 game was the most difficult, this ranking will help you get some clarity.
7. Possible Futures

Possible Futures was the final game that Arisu, Usagi, and the other players must pass to survive. Therefore, it’s clear that the Borderlands wouldn’t present an easy game to the participants. Spanning 5 and 6 episodes of Alice in Borderland Season 3, Possible Futures takes place in a 25 interconnected rooms in Shibuya. It involved ten players; Usagi emerged pregnant, so she was counted as two players. The goal of the game was to reach the exit door in 15 rounds. The walls of each room projected the possible good and bad futures of each player, influencing their decisions in the game.
Players are given wristbands and explosive collars for elimination. In the centre of each room, there is a platform on which players must roll colorful dice, which will determine how many players advance through which door. When a player moves into another room, they gain one point. The person who chooses to stay behind also earns one point. Several rooms are ‘minus’ zones that will reduce your points from 1 to 8. Each player starts with 15 points, and those who reach zero points die.
The emotional impact that this game had on the players makes it the toughest game of the third season. Seeing your different futures playing out in front of you and making a decision based on that was nothing short of torture. In short, this game was the Queen of Hearts game from the second season, but on steroids. Out of all the games that everyone played in Season 3, this particular one broke everyone, especially Arisu and Usagi, emotionally.
6. Tokyo Bingo Tower
Tokyo Bingo Tower was the game played by Usagi’s team to make it to the final round. Now, why was it one of the challenging games in Alice in Borderland Season 3? Well, that’s because it was the most physically demanding challenge that a professional athlete can complete. For instance, Usagi was a mountain climber, so it wasn’t difficult for her, but what about others.
Players must climb the Tokyo tower, press the buzzers on various points, and complete the diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines on the bingo card to make it to the ‘Free’ buzzer on top of the tower. However, the way to reach the ultimate goal was full of obstacles. Whenever someone presses a buzzer, everyone must be careful, as huge metal balls are released from above that can make the players fall to their deaths.
5. Runaway Train
Here’s another game that was purely based on luck. Taking place in a driverless train, the players are provided with a mask and four canisters of neutralizing agent each. The players must travel from carriage 1 to carriage eight and stop the train after hearing the siren. However, the path to reach the leading car wasn’t easy at all. That’s because, when the players enter a carriage, it is filled with either oxygen or poisonous gas.
Upon entering the car, the players have 30 minutes to decide whether they want to put on the mask or not. However, if they use the canister, regardless of whether the gas is oxygen or poison, the neutralizing agent is consumed. This game featured in AIB delivers one of the most brutal deaths to date.
4. Zombie Hunt

Set in a virus research institute, Zombie Hunt is a complex card-based game in which players must form alliances to survive. The game consists of 64 participants divided into four teams. Each player will start with seven cards, and every one of them must play the game to outscore the opponent. However, unlike the usual card games, this one has a catch. The bundle of playing cards involves Zombie, Vaccine, and Shotgun.
One player from each team gets the abovementioned cards. The one with the zombie card gets the privilege to turn the opponent into one of a kind and secure a chance to win. However, if the one with the zombie card is confronted by the one with a shotgun, they get killed instantly. Additionally, if an infected player plays against one who has a vaccine card, they revert to their human form. The side (human or zombie) with the most members wins in the end. Overall, this game was more about trust and teamwork and less about emotions or physicality.
This is the game where we are introduced to Rei, one of the impactful cast members of Alice in Borderland Season 3.
3. Kick the Can
Kick the Can takes place over 10 rounds, during which a can is passed between the players. The can is a time bomb that gets activated when someone holds it for the first time. Whenever a player passes the ball to another, a new countdown starts; however, the player loses five seconds.
Players must constantly pass the can to prevent elimination. The goal of the game is to return the can to its original position before the timer expires. However, failing to do so results in a massive explosion that kills every player in the vicinity. This game challenges players to place the can in a specific position within a limited time.
2. Sacred Fortunes
Several people died during this game, but in the end, Arisu figured out that it was easier than they imagined. Set in Hikawa Shrine, Sacred Fortunes made players pick up a fortune slip for ten rounds. Each slip featured a riddle or puzzle that the one holding the slip must answer.
If a player fails to give the correct answer, a barrage of flamable arrows is released from above, killing several players instantly. While almost every player failed to find a solution, Arisu, using his intellect, discovered an underground tunnel during his chance and helped every remaining player survive the game. Of course, this game was very impressive when it comes to visuals.
And sure, it was tough to save yourself from a million fiery arrows. However, in the end, surviving this game only required the players to find the tunnel by going in the right direction. The players were not trying to kill each other, and they didn’t have to rely on each other as well. As soon as Arisu found the solution, they simply had to rush to the safety point collectively.
1. Old Maid

Old Maid is the first game that was featured in Alice in Borderland Season 3. It involved seven players, including Ryuji Matsuyama, the enigmatic university professor. The players are seated around an electrified table.
Each player is given a deck of cards, from which they must discard pairs that match. Each must draw a card from the others to form pairs and throw them on the table. However, the one with a Joker card in the end must face the elimination. Given how this game was purely based on luck, it makes it sort of the easiest game in Alice in Borderland Season 3. Of course, losing the Joker card guaranteed your death, but in the end, no one had to do any calculations, and no player was trying to kill each other. It was pure luck and a little bit of misguidance that made Ryuji survive in the end.
