Spider-Man, often referred to as the frontman of the entire Marvel Franchise has seen numerous adaptations. The most beloved of those adaptations was the live-action one where Tobey Maguire took up the mantle of Spider-Man. It was followed by the iconic adaptation of Spider-Man by Andrew Garfield and finally, the MCU adaptation by Tom Holland. Now, in 2024, Spider-Man is coming back to the silver screen with an animated series, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming series.

When Is Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Coming Out

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man is set to release on November 2, 2024. The series will be released on Disney Plus and will have a total of 10 episodes each of them being at least 30 minutes long. Initially, the show was named Spider-Man: Freshman Year, but in December 2023, it was announced that the name had been changed to Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.

Is There a Trailer for Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man

As of now, no trailer has been released for Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. However, at D23, some clips from the upcoming show were displayed to the fans which made some really exciting revelations about the characters set to appear in the series and the cast of it as well. Since the show is set to release in November, we can expect a trailer for it to be released by September end or the beginning of October.

What Is the Cast of Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man will bring in Hudson Thames as the voice of Spider-Man but other than that, not much is known about the rest of the cast. However, the panel of Marvel Animations at D23 2024, revealed that Colman Domingo will voice the character of Norman Osborn. The clips shown at the event also confirmed that Doctor Strange will be appearing in the show but as of now, it has not been revealed if Benedict Cumberbatch will be voicing the character or not. There are rumors of other actors voicing characters but as of now, nothing has been officially confirmed.

What Will Be the Plot of Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man

The clip shown at D23 revealed certain aspects of the plot we will witness in Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. This series is going to twist the origin of Spider-Man making it the first ever on-screen Spider-Man to have a different origin than the rest of his counterparts. According to the clip, Peter Parker is a student at Midtown High, and on his first day, a portal opens, and out of it falls Doctor Strange and a monster followed by a magical spider. The spider bites Peter and gives him his powers rooting Spidey’s powers in magic rather than science.

In this adaptation, Normal Osborn is going to be an ally of Spider-Man who will make him a more advanced suit just as Tony Stark did for their MCU Spider-Man. The rest of the plot will follow Spider-Man on various adventures summing up to a grand story that was not completely revealed at the event so we will have to wait for the trailer to find out more.
