Xiaomi is scheduled to launch its budget Redmi 5 smartphone, a compact powerhouse, in India on March 14. While the Chinese giant had been tapping homegrown e-tailer Flipkart for most of its recent releases, it has now exclusively partnered with Amazon India for the upcoming launch of the Redmi 5.
Following through on its partnership, Amazon has already set up a dedicated page for the launch of the device. It not just includes a couple of new teaser images that further hint that the upcoming device is the Redmi 5, but also mentions that the device would be showcased on the website on March 14, at 3 pm IST.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise as Xiaomi’s prospective buyers has recently been facing a boatload of issues with their purchase during flash sales on Flipkart. This move is also helpful in attracting Amazon users to the Mi community.
The Redmi 5’s launch in India, if you didn’t already know, was first teased during the Mi TV 4A launch live stream. Xiaomi sneakily slipped a seven-second teaser for the device at the end, but several eagle-eyed viewers were able to catch on with the company’s move.
