Following the conclusion of the main JJK series, everyone believed that the author Gege Akutami was over his magnum opus and was anticipating a new project. But the creator surprised everyone with a new spin-off series, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, which also serves as a sequel to JJK. Now JJK: Modulo has reached its end after a six-month run on Weekly Shonen Jump. So, once again, the question of whether there will be another Jujutsu Kaisen manga after Modulo is popping up. So, will Gege Akutami come up with another installment in the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise or not? Let’s find out the answer here!

WSJ’s Editor Comments Confirm Gege Has a New Manga in the Works
Unfortunately, Gege Akutami’s (Writer) and Yuji Iwasaki’s (Illustrator) comments in the final chapter of JJK: Modulo don’t hint at a new Jujutsu Kaisen manga in development. However, the magazine editor’s comment asked the fans to stay tuned for Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki’s next work. So, this eventually confirmed that both the authors, Gege and Yuji, are working on their new projects following the conclusion of the JJK: Modulo series.

We aren’t sure whether the upcoming work the editor mentioned will be a collaboration between Gege and Iwasaki (similar to Modulo) or if the authors are working on separate works at the moment. Earlier, Gege Akutami wanted to create an idol manga so much that he was even ready to shelve the main JJK series after JJK: 0 came out. So, Gege’s upcoming work could be an idol manga, as there are no signs of it being a new installment in the JJK franchise as of now.
Yuji’s Ending in JJK: Modulo May Have Quietly Set Up the Next Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

The final chapter of JJK: Modulo gave Yuji quite a full circle ending! Yuji revealed that he thinks he will become a cursed object when he dies several hundred years later. Yes! So, Yuji could end up like a cursed object in the same vein as how Sukuna ended up as one. Yuji also remarks that a person in the future can consume him (as a cursed object) in a dire situation where someone needs cursed energy.
As you can see here, Gege can craft a new story from Yuji’s ending where someone consumes the cursed object, and maybe Yuji can reincarnate into a vessel similar to how Sukuna was reborn in Yuji’s body at the beginning of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Now we aren’t saying that this will certainly happen in the future, but it is one of the ways Gege could return to his roots.
Even if Gege Akutami decides to put his pen down related to Jujutsu Kaisen works, the JJK community wants the author to churn out prequels, sequels, and spin-offs set in the JJK universe until the very end. But no new JJK manga remains in sight as of now, and we will update it here once Gege shares exciting information about his next manga.
That said, do you think Gege will continue developing new Jujutsu Kaisen stories, or would you want to see him work on a new manga? Let us know in the comments below.
